Last year, the Love Is Blind reunion show launched the career of singer Alex Warren. This year, they’re hoping to do the same for Myles Smith. The recent reunion episode, which aired on Netflix on October 29th, started with hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey introducing Smith, whose song could become popular for months to come – just like Warren’s hit “Ordinary.” Smith performed his song “Nice to Meet You” as the cast of the Denver season entered the room. The song itself is a typical upbeat track, similar in style to artists like Noah Kahan, The Lumineers, or Mumford & Sons. It’s designed to be background music as the hosts reintroduce the couples. Usually, you’d expect to quickly forget the singer from the Love Is Blind reunion, but Alex Warren proved that isn’t always the case.
Back in March, the Love Is Blind reunion show featured a performance by TikTok star Warren. While he was mostly known for his social media presence at the time, he sang his song “Ordinary,” which was just starting to gain popularity on Spotify. Many viewers took notice – and the song quickly became a hit! Billboard reported that the Love Is Blind appearance caused “Ordinary” to climb the charts, eventually reaching No. 1 on the “Hot 100” and becoming the song of the summer.
Smith is hoping to recapture his previous success. When introducing him, the Lacheys announced that Smith is already a highly successful, multi-platinum artist, even though he’s not well-known in the United States. He’s popular in the U.K., where his song “Nice to Meet You” reached number 6 on the charts earlier this year. However, in the U.S., that song has only climbed to number 62. His most successful U.S. hit so far is “Stargazing,” which briefly reached number 19 in April.
Will Myles Smith receive the same attention Alex Warren got on the show? Alex had a significant solo performance at the end, which Myles didn’t have. However, Myles did perform first, and it’s possible viewers lost interest after finding out Sparkle Megan had a baby. We’ll see if Love Is Blind helps Myles get noticed.
