Despite problems with servers and delays, especially on Xbox, ARC Raiders attracted over ten thousand players when it first launched. Now, the game has nearly 160,000 players on Steam. While many are interested, some potential players are unsure about buying it, particularly wanting to know if they can play the game alone. The answer is yes, but there’s something important to keep in mind.
You can play ARC Raiders solo but…
So, you’re looking to play ARC Riders by yourself? Great news – you absolutely can! The developers recently announced they’re focusing on fair gameplay, and that means keeping solo players separate from those playing in squads as much as possible. Here’s what they said on their official Discord server:
Raiders–
We noticed some discussions around loot or “gear score” matchmaking.
The team has looked at different matchmaking ideas in the past, like matching players based on their gear. However, our current priority is making sure solo players and squads are kept separate and have a fair experience.
Once the game is released, we’ll keep a close watch on performance and player feedback. Our team is committed to delivering fun, diverse, and balanced gameplay experiences for everyone.
Ideally, game lobbies should separate players who are playing alone from those who are in teams, until there are enough people to fill up the lobbies completely. However, players are also discussing another problem on Discord – what is it?
Keep in mind that players who are playing alone can actually team up with each other. Just because the map shows a lot of solo players doesn’t mean you’ll only fight one opponent at a time. You might encounter multiple enemies working together, even when you’re playing solo, so be careful!
