A new rumor suggests the upcoming Spider-Man 4 will tie into one of Marvel’s more controversial Disney+ series. Production on the fourth Spider-Man film began in July, with Tom Holland reprising his role as Spider-Man and Destin Daniel Cretton directing, following his success with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. There’s been a lot of speculation that Mark Ruffalo will return as Hulk in the movie, which would be his first live-action MCU appearance since She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
A recent report by Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus suggests a link between the Spider-Man: Brand New Day storyline and the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series, centering around Bruce Banner. Perez claims Banner is feeling completely overwhelmed because of what happened in She-Hulk and Captain America: Brave New World, which confirmed his biggest fear had come true.
In the Disney+ series She-Hulk, Bruce Banner came to terms with the possibility of other Hulks being created using his DNA, after his cousin Jennifer Walters became She-Hulk when his blood mixed with hers during a car accident. The movie Captain America: Brave New World then revealed another Hulk: President Thaddeus Ross, who had been secretly transforming into Red Hulk due to special, gamma-irradiated pills created by scientist Samuel Sterns.

A major challenge for Bruce Banner in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day storyline will be integrating new Hulks into everyday life. According to Perez, this situation will likely increase Banner’s stress levels, potentially leading to a transformation back into the more aggressive Savage Hulk form in Spider-Man 4.
Bruce Banner is completely overwhelmed. After what happened in ‘She-Hulk’ and ‘Brave New World’, he’s come to the frightening realization that others can transform into the Hulk, which is deeply unsettling for him. This realization is what kicks off the story in ‘Brand New Day’.
The storyline of the She-Hulk series is now playing a role in the upcoming Spider-Man 4, which is one of the first instances of a Disney+ show influencing the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe since She-Hulk premiered in 2022.
When She-Hulk first came out, it sparked a lot of debate among Marvel fans. Some criticized the visual effects and how the character of Daredevil was depicted. The show wasn’t renewed for a second season on Disney+ – which isn’t unusual for Marvel TV series. However, including Hulk’s story in Spider-Man: Brand New Day now confirms that She-Hulk actually happened and makes it a more important piece of the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline.
The next Spider-Man movie, currently titled Brand New Day, is being filmed in the UK. Tom Holland will reprise his role as Spider-Man, alongside Zendaya and Jacob Batalon. Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas are joining the cast as new characters. The movie is scheduled to come out on July 31, 2026.
Will Spider-Man 4 Address Other She-Hulk Plot Points?

Since the Disney+ series She-Hulk influenced Hulk’s character in the upcoming Spider-Man 4, it’s unclear if other storylines or details from She-Hulk will also appear in the new movie.
A major question hanging over the Disney+ show She-Hulk is what will happen with Hulk’s son, Skaar. The first episode showed a mysterious ship from Sakaar, which led Banner to travel back to that planet – a place established in Thor: Ragnarok – to confront his past. He returns near the end of the series just in time for a family gathering, bringing Skaar with him.
The arrival of Hulk’s son is a big deal for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans likely expect some mention of him when Hulk appears next in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, Marvel Studios sometimes leaves storylines hanging, so it’s possible we won’t find out what happens with Skaar until they’re ready to tell his story.
