The world of Assassin’s Creed now extends beyond video games, with a wide range of books and graphic novels adding depth to its rich story. One example is Assassin’s Creed: Dynasty, a Chinese comic series similar to Japanese manga. Set in 755 CE China after the Tang dynasty fell, it offers a fresh storyline and location for fans to explore. You can find all five volumes collected in the recently released Assassin’s Creed: Dynasty Box Set for $60.
Assassin’s Creed: Dynasty takes place in 755 AD, during a turbulent time in Chinese history. Following the collapse of the Tang Dynasty due to the rebellion led by An Lushan – a military leader connected to the Knights Templar – assassin Li E joins forces with those still loyal to the Tang to try and restore the country. The game’s creators, artist Zhang Xiao and writer Xu Xianzhe, thoroughly researched the Tang Dynasty to make sure the story and visuals accurately reflect the period.
If the new Assassin’s Creed: Dynasty box set sells out, you can still buy each of the five volumes separately on Amazon. However, purchasing the volumes individually will be more expensive than buying the complete box set.

This fall, alongside the novel Assassin’s Creed: Dynasty, a new book collecting the Korean webtoon Assassin’s Creed: The Forgotten Temple will be released on November 20th. This book follows Edward Kenway, the main character from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, as he embarks on an adventure in Southeast Asia. It’s a continuation of the story started in the previous webtoon series, Assassin’s Creed: Awakening, which also detailed Kenway’s experiences after the events of Black Flag. Assassin’s Creed: Awakening Volume 1 costs $20, and Volume 2 is available for $10.65.

This is just a glimpse of the many Assassin’s Creed books and comics currently available. The series features dozens of stories that explore new locations and plots within the Assassin’s Creed universe. For example, Assassin’s Creed: Bloodstone is set during the Vietnam War and focuses on the assassins operating during that time. If you’d like to see things from the other side, Assassin’s Creed: Templars follows the Templars and their attempts to control the world, which are constantly challenged by the Assassins.
You can also explore comic series connected to games like Assassin’s Creed Origins and Valhalla, which offer fresh stories set within those historical worlds.
Besides novels, you can also find art books and guides for many Assassin’s Creed games, like Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which show how the games were made. See the list below for more books, comics, and art collections that are currently available.
