Here are some top character builds, including suggested backgrounds, traits, skills, perks, and equipment to help you get started.

Best Builds For All Playstyles In The Outer Worlds 2

The Outer Worlds 2 Builds Are Highly Customizable

In The Outer Worlds 2, you’ll be encouraged to try different combinations of abilities, equipment, and ways to play as you develop your character. Though not required, it’s a good idea to build your character around the background, traits, and skills you choose at the start. To help with this, I’ve put together some character build ideas to get you started.

These builds offer suggestions for developing your character, whether you prefer to specialize in certain skills or create a more versatile character. They’re designed to help you get started with different playstyles and provide a foundation for how you approach the game. Feel free to customize them as you progress and tailor them to your own preferences and needs.

For new players, we highly recommend choosing the Sickly and Brilliant traits. Sickly is the easiest negative trait to manage, becoming less of a problem as you gain levels. Brilliant gives you a head start by providing an extra skill at the beginning of the game.

Best Strategy For All Builds In The Outer Worlds 2

Take Liberties With Your Build & Play It Your Way

These character builds are a great starting point for any playstyle, and how you develop them is really up to you. Try to embrace the core idea of each build – for example, the “Kenny Rogers” build is a fun, luck-based character that focuses on skills like Luck, Pistols, Sleight of Hand, and Speech.

As a huge fan, I’m already planning my character builds for The Outer Worlds 2! Some of them, like the Assassin, Gunslinger, or Boomer, are pretty straightforward. But the Poisoner build? That’s going to take some real strategy, combining all sorts of corrosive effects. What’s really cool is that these aren’t strict rules – the game encourages you to experiment and tweak things to fit your playstyle. The loose progression system means you can really customize everything, and that’s awesome!
