BrookeAB, a streamer for 100 Thieves, has shared that her mental health has gotten better since she stopped focusing so much on getting high viewer counts on Twitch.
The Twitch streamer shared on X that her mental health has improved significantly—she says it’s “ten times better” now that her average viewership is around 100, a big drop from the thousands she used to get.
I feel so much better mentally now that I have a small, dedicated community of around 100 viewers. Trying to get views from thousands of people was really stressful. It’s tough because the gaming world online is often negative, and I really miss how things were on Twitch back in 2019.
BrookeAB was very popular on Twitch, averaging more than 7,000 live viewers in June 2019. However, by September 2025, her average viewership had dropped to just 155.
Just to add one last thought: I’ve experienced a lot of people being unkind to me after my audience size decreased – including brands, friends, and other streamers. Remember, your value isn’t determined by your follower count, and it’s not worth trying to impress people who aren’t supportive of you as a person. You deserve better and are worthy of genuine connection ❤️

“People treat me like sh*t”
It’s been really tough, but I wanted to share something Brooke said that really resonated with me. She explained that a lot of the negativity she’s gotten started happening when her viewer count went down. She said people – brands, even friends and other streamers – started treating her badly. And it really hit home when she said we’re worth so much more than just how many people are watching, and that those kinds of people aren’t worth trying to impress if they aren’t supportive of you as a person. She ended with a really empowering message: you are worthy, and you can get through anything!
She also tweeted that she believes a lot of genuine connection has been lost because people now see each other as just potential followers or opportunities for partnerships.
Other content creators echoed those feelings. Valorant streamer AverageJonas said he prioritizes enjoying his online space and close community, emphasizing that happiness is the most important thing. Twitch partner KittyCatJenna agreed, stating that choosing happiness is better than seeking online popularity, and that early Twitch felt more genuine and less focused on money.
Brooke joined 100 Thieves in 2019 and is popular for her casual ‘Just Chatting’ streams and diverse content. Even though her viewership has gone down, she continues to stream consistently.
