As a huge action movie fan, I’m really excited to hear that the latest film starring the one and only Jason Statham finally has a release date! It was delayed for a bit, but it’s happening! After seeing him in A Working Man earlier this year, I can’t wait to see him back in action with Mutiny. From what I understand, he’s playing a martial artist on the run after being wrongly accused of murder – sounds like classic Statham, and exactly what I want to see!
Jason Statham stars in and produces the new action film Mutiny, reuniting with director Jean-François Richet, who previously helmed the 2023 film Plane. The cast also features Annabelle Wallis, known for her roles in Peaky Blinders and Malignant, as well as Jason Wong (Wrath of Man, The Gentlemen), alongside Roland Møller, Arnas Fedaravičius, and Adrian Lester.
Originally scheduled for January 9, 2026, the action thriller Mutiny has had its release date moved to August 21, 2026, due to a scheduling conflict with Gerard Butler’s Greenland 2: Migration. Jason Statham & Jean-François Richet Promise to Deliver Action Movie Greatness

I’m really excited to hear that the team behind Plane is working together again! Director Jean-François Richet is teaming up with writers J.P. Davis and Lindsay Michel for a new action movie called Mutiny. Lionsgate’s Lauren Bixby has hinted that pairing Jason Statham with Richet is a recipe for something amazing, building on their successful collaboration on Plane. They’re hoping to recapture that same creative spark and deliver another thrilling experience with Mutiny, and honestly, I can’t wait to see what they come up with!
Jason Statham fans won’t have to wait too long to see him back in action. Although his next big chase thriller isn’t due until next year, a new film starring Statham will hit theaters on January 30, 2026. Called Shelter, this action-packed thriller—directed by Ric Roman Waugh, who also directed Angel Has Fallen—features Statham as a loner living on a remote Scottish island. When he rescues a young girl, it sets off a dangerous chain of events, forcing him to confront his past. The film also stars Bill Nighy, Naomi Ackie, and Daniel Mays.
And there’s more! Jason Statham will also be working with director Timo Tjahjanto, known for films like The Night Comes for Us and The Shadow Strays, on The Beekeeper 2, which is currently slated for release in 2026. It’s clear that 2026 is shaping up to be a big year for Jason Statham.
