Twitch streamer Sam Pepper has been banned from the platform after a dangerous incident involving fireworks in India left a young girl injured and requiring medical care.
Pepper and his friends were in New Delhi, India, celebrating Diwali when they playfully shot Roman candles at one another.
Things escalated quickly. Apparently, some people from the town started shooting fireworks back at us Kick streamers. But then it got really bad – Pepper shot back, and unfortunately hit a young girl in the face. It was a total disaster.

“Oh my God!” the influencer exclaimed in delight as someone else nearby shouted “headshot!”
When Pepper heard a local say a girl had been hospitalized and lost an eye, the streamer clarified it was an accidental injury, but the news had already spread.
After what happened, the streamer was banned from both Pump.fun and Kick, and it seems like he won’t be allowed on the Stake website again.

Pepper later learned, according to Decrypt, that the girl needed stitches but was released from the hospital and hadn’t lost an eye as initially believed.
I sent a friend to check on them and contacted their family. I apologized and offered to cover their hospital bills and other expenses related to the incident. I’ve also decided I won’t be using fireworks anymore.

He explained that the family didn’t speak English, so he just quickly apologized and left it at that. He was too embarrassed to try and communicate further.
Pepper announced on Discord that he won’t be returning to Kick and will not share any details about the incident involving the woman he hit.
The influencer decided not to ask the girl’s family for a photo to share online, not wanting to cause them any further distress. He explained that he didn’t want to be disrespectful or intrude on their privacy any longer, and that he’d already apologized and ensured they were taken care of, so he would leave them alone.
This isn’t the first time the streamer has faced criticism. Back in 2015, he posted a YouTube video called “Killing Best Friend Prank” with Sam Golbach and Colby Brock. In the video, the streamer wore a mask and pretended to kidnap his friends, taking them to a rooftop where he made it appear as if Brock was being shot while Golbach watched.
Golbach was deeply upset, crying and panicked, until Brock revealed it was all a prank. Although the entire incident was staged, many viewers were outraged and a petition to have Pepper’s YouTube channel removed quickly gathered over 100,000 signatures.
Besides the situation with Pepper, Kick has seen many other controversial events where streamers got into trouble while traveling abroad.
In 2023, Ice Poseidon was arrested in Thailand for performing a lap dance for his girlfriend while wearing her underwear in a restaurant.
Johnny Somai, another content creator on Kick, was banned from the platform after disruptive behavior in Japan and Israel. This included an incident where he reportedly harassed a female police officer.
