This year marks the 30th anniversary of the popular anime *Evangelion*, and to celebrate, Casio has released a special G-Shock watch. The GA-110EVA30 model takes its design inspiration from the iconic EVA-01 unit, and was actually created by Ikuto Yamashita – the very mechanical designer who worked on the *Evangelion* series itself! You can order the watch now from the Casio website for $280. With its bright colors and large size, this watch is sure to stand out.
Ikuto Yamasshita cleverly hid references to the series for fans throughout the design. These include a dial at 9 o’clock based on the Angel Sachiel, a Y-shaped element inspired by the series’ warning patterns, and imagery of the Spear of Longinus. The NERV logo also appears, and a 30th anniversary emblem is engraved on the back of the watch, as you can see in the photos below.

This watch features the popular, classic G-Shock GA-110 design. It’s quite large, measuring 55 x 51.2 x 16.9 mm, and is built to withstand tough conditions with 200 meters of water resistance, as well as shock and magnetic resistance. It also includes features like world time and both analog and digital displays.
Although much of the celebration for Evangelion’s 30th anniversary is happening in Japan, this special watch is available worldwide. If you are in Japan, you can also enjoy events like the “All of Evangelion” exhibit opening in November, and screenings of the Evangelion films returning to cinemas from this year through 2026.
