Don’t bother waiting for the Great Pumpkin to magically appear! This year, the only pumpkins you’ll find are at the Ghost Town Pumpkin Festival, the online pumpkin-carving game that’s returned after a short break.
Ghost Town Pumpkin Festival, created by Whippoorwill Ltd (Adam R. & Dawn B.), is a game where players explore a spooky ghost town and join in a Halloween festival. A key part of the game is a pumpkin-carving contest where players can win ribbons from each other. You can also customize your own ghost character and explore the town.
The Ghost Town Pumpkin Festival has expanded this year! Previously, only 200 players could join at once, but now the game supports up to 800 simultaneous players. Along with the increased capacity, players can explore new locations like the Ghost Town Cinema, which shows old silent films. Other activities include visiting a haunted house and enjoying a hayride.
This year, be sure to check out Ghost Town Cinema! It’s a new area featuring classic silent films, and like the rest of the park, it will be decorated with pumpkins!

You can download the Ghost Town Pumpkin Festival game for PC, Mac, and Linux directly from its official website. It’s a ‘pay-what-you-want’ game, and if you contribute $2 or more, you’ll get a version with fun hats for the ghosts! Since its release earlier this month, players have already created an amazing 24,000 pumpkins in the game – a new record, according to Adam R.
The developers plan to remove the Ghost Town Pumpkin Festival game a week or two after Halloween, likely before it comes back in 2026.
