Florida TikToker arrested for third time after trying to hide from police

Marlena Valez, a TikTok influencer with over 500,000 followers, was arrested in Florida after allegedly attempting to hide from police inside a vehicle.

Twenty-three-year-old Velez was arrested twice in late 2024 for stealing from a Target in Cape Coral. This happened even after a video of her initial theft became popular online. Police say she used fake barcodes to lower the prices of items, and she was identified as the suspect through posts on her TikTok account.

She was sentenced in March 2025 to 12 months of probation in connection with the theft cases.

Cape Coral Police arrested Velez on October 12th, ending a weeks-long effort to find him.

Police say Velez was seen in a gray 2022 Kia Sorento that afternoon. When officers tried to contact her, she reportedly hid from view before being discovered lying on the floor in the backseat.

Arrest follows September chase and ongoing probation case

According to police, a recent arrest in October is linked to an event from September 29, 2025, where Velez supposedly ran away from a police officer who tried to pull him over. The officer stopped chasing him because it wasn’t safe, but this led to a new charge of evading police.

Velez is currently being held at the Lee County Jail without bail after allegedly violating her probation twice and running from law enforcement.
