Apple TV+ and Peacock are joining forces to offer a new streaming bundle at a discounted price, starting October 20th. For a 30% discount, you can get both services, giving you access to popular Apple TV+ shows like *Severance* and *The Studio*, alongside Peacock’s reality TV lineup including *The Traitors*, *Love Island*, and Bravo favorites. This is a welcome move, giving viewers more options and value for their money.
The new package comes in two options: $15 or $20 per month. Both include an ad-free Apple TV subscription (which recently dropped the ‘+’ from its name). One option adds Peacock Premium, which includes ads, while the more expensive option includes Peacock Premium Plus, which is mostly ad-free except for certain content like live sports, channels, and some shows and movies. If you already subscribe to Apple TV through an existing Apple One Family or Premier plan, you can get Peacock Premium Plus with a 35% discount – that’s great news!
Okay, as a movie and TV critic, I’ve been looking at a lot of streaming bundles lately, and this one actually feels pretty smartly put together. What I like is that Apple TV+ and Peacock don’t really step on each other’s toes. Unlike Netflix or Amazon Prime, which have a lot of the same content, these two services offer very different things. Apple focuses on high-quality, award-worthy originals, while Peacock is strong with network TV shows and reality programming. Even their sports coverage is distinct – Peacock has a lot of NFL and NBA, while Apple has MLS, Formula 1, and MLB. It’s not a totally new idea, though. Xfinity already offers a bundle pairing Netflix with Peacock and other services for an extra $15 a month, and it’s similar to the various Disney bundles, like the one with HBO Max, that give you a variety of different programming options.
Honestly, the biggest thing left to figure out is the name of this package! “Apple TV and Peacock Bundle” just sounds…boring. I’ve heard some silly suggestions like “PeApple” or “AppCock,” but come on, for twenty bucks a month, they *have* to come up with something a little more creative and catchy, right?
