The official soundtrack for Battlefield 6 includes music by Limp Bizkit. While the pairing makes sense – the game is famous for its chaotic moments (‘breaking stuff’), and Limp Bizkit has a song called ‘Break Stuff’ – the collaboration wasn’t originally intended. Composer Henry Jackman revealed in an interview with Hollywood Records that he was almost done with the soundtrack before considering if adding a rock band would enhance the game.
He noted the classic Battlefield theme has a strong rock feel and wondered if it might be interesting to partner with a well-known rock band for a collaboration.
Working together means being open-minded and willing to tackle projects that stretch your skills. That’s why Hugh Jackman wondered, “What about collaborating with Limp Bizkit?”
I was so stoked to hear Fred Durst talk about getting involved with the Battlefield 6 soundtrack! He said he was immediately on board with the idea, and his goal was to create something that felt like following a path – he put it perfectly, saying he wanted to ‘Follow the yellow brick road until we get to Henry…!’ It sounds like they’re really going for a unique vibe with the music.
Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff” was a perfect choice for the new Battlefield trailer, as the game series is famous for its incredible destruction.
As a huge Battlefield fan, I was so excited to hear that Battlefield 6 sold a massive 7 million copies in its first five days! One analyst is even saying those numbers are comparable to Call of Duty, which is incredible. Now, the big question is whether the developers can keep players hooked long-term, but it definitely seems like they’ve built a really solid base to work with, and I’m optimistic!
Battlefield 6’s first season begins October 28th, and many believe that’s also when the long-awaited battle royale mode will finally be released.
The gaming market is getting crowded! Embark Studios, founded by former EA executive Patrick Soderlund, will release its multiplayer shooter, Arc Raiders, on October 30th. Shortly after, on November 14th, the latest installment in the popular series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, will hit shelves.
