At PAX Australia this weekend, Gearbox and 2K announced details about future updates for Borderlands 4. The developers showcased what players can expect in the first set of bonus content – called Bounty Pack 1 – along with the first seasonal mini-event, a super-tough boss, and other exciting additions!

Bounty Pack 1: How Rush Saved Mercenary Day

Bounty Packs are optional downloadable content that adds exciting new stories to the world of Kairos. In these new missions, you’ll join forces with Rush to help the Timekeeper’s Minister of Culture celebrate Mercenary Day – a fun holiday filled with gifts and action! You’ll also have a chance to earn powerful new Legendary items.

To access Bounty Pack 1: How Rush Saved Mercenary Day, players can:

  • Purchase Borderlands 4 Deluxe or Super Deluxe Edition (both include the Bounty Pack Bundle)
  • Alternatively purchase the Bounty Pack Bundle that includes Bounty Pack 1 or purchase Bounty Pack 1 individually

“How Rush Saved Mercenary Day” is the first of four special bonus packs available in the Bounty Pack Bundle. We’ll share more information about the other bonus packs soon.

Free Seasonal Mini-Event: Horrors of Kairos

Get ready for a spooky event! From October 23rd to November 6th, players can experience the first free, limited-time Seasonal Mini-Event, Horrors of Kairos. When battling world bosses, you’ll face a chilling new weather effect – blood rain! Defeating these bosses gives you a chance to win powerful new Legendary items. Plus, we’ll be sharing exclusive seasonal cosmetic items through SHiFT codes on our official Borderlands social media channels.

Free Endgame Updates: Bloomreaper the Invincible

Bloomreaper the Invincible, the first of several free endgame bosses coming to Borderlands 4, will be available in the fourth quarter of the year. The name “Invincible” is a nod to the challenging raid bosses from Borderlands 2. While not actually unkillable, these new bosses will be incredibly tough, with huge health bars, powerful attacks, and unique modifiers that will really put players’ skills to the test.
