Airrack under fire after new Twitch streamer ‘arrest’ prank

Social media sensation Airrack is facing criticism after pulling off a fresh prank involving the hiring of actors who pretended to make arrests on live streamers.

Airrack is well-known on YouTube for his bold prank videos, such as those where he conceals himself in the backdrop during live streams, aiming to get discovered by the streamer or their audience.

On September 8th, I took things to another level by unleashing an epic prank on streaming duo Maya and FaZe Adapt. I enlisted a team of skilled actors to stage a realistic “arrest” scene, creating quite the commotion during their live stream. Essentially, it was like setting up a swatting scenario! Quite the thrill, I must say!

After some conversation between them on the live stream, the police took the two streamers off the platform, before a YouTuber could show up. “Watch out if you’re a livestreamer,” Airrack warned, “I’m going to target everyone of you.

Maya admits to being in on Airrack prank

After a short while, both Maya and Adapt found themselves back at the stream. Maya mentioned that she already knew about the situation, having learned about it earlier on.

She apologized, admitting she hadn’t realized how authentic it would be. It was truly terrifying, she commented, while Adapt appeared to be quite shaken by the experience.

She acknowledged that the outcome was anticipated and understood it required her best effort. However, she didn’t want to excel excessively because she foresaw it might make the viewers feel sympathy towards her, and she expressed regret to the audience about this.

QTCinderella blasts Airrack over prank

Nevertheless, other creators found it less amusing. “To put it mildly, this isn’t really humorous, @airrack,” QTCinderella expressed on X (previously Twitter.)

The original sentence uses strong and informal language, which may be considered inappropriate or offensive by some readers. The paraphrased version maintains the intended message while using more polite and formal language.

As a fan, I’d share this: “I was officially diagnosed with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) due to a swatting incident. Watching my friends being held at gunpoint reduced me to tears. Tragically, my beloved cat had to flee when the police broke down our doors during a raid. The sight of snipers aiming rifles at me left me petrified for my life. This isn’t a joke – incidents like these are still happening every day. It’s utterly horrifying and heartbreaking. Lives have been lost, and I can’t help but wonder: What the hell is going on?

This shit still happens everyday. It’s horrifying. People have died. Like what the fuck.

Another streamer, Razlol, added: “I just don’t understand the s*it people see as content anymore.”

It was unclear if the organizers thought this would be amusing, but many viewers felt that it was at least questionable in taste. As one person put it, ‘It seemed as though they were unsure if their audience would find this funny. With a bit of common sense, it’s clear that this fell short of acceptable standards.’

“Dudes gonna do this to the wrong person. Does not seem like a smart gimmick,” another added.
