Rumors suggest Rockstar is developing Red Dead Redemption 2 for the next Nintendo Switch, as well as updated versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The release dates for these versions are currently unknown.
NateTheHate2, a well-known source of gaming leaks, has again confirmed that new versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 are in development for current PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as the upcoming Switch 2. When asked about a release date for the Arthur Morgan prequel, NateTheHate2 stated they have no new information. The speculation is that Rockstar Games aims to release these updated versions relatively soon, as the studio will be heavily focused on Grand Theft Auto VI next year.
A leaker known as NateTheHate 2 predicted that Red Dead Redemption 2 would be released on the upcoming Switch 2 console this year, alongside updates for current gaming systems. While they accurately predicted the date of Nintendo’s recent presentation, the game wasn’t actually shown there. Rockstar previously released the original Red Dead Redemption on the Switch in 2023, and there’s also been talk of a remastered version of Grand Theft Auto 4 potentially being in development.
