KOEI TECMO America and Gust are excited to announce the next game in the popular Atelier series: Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories. Currently in development, the game is planned to launch in early 2027 on Nintendo Switch™ 2, PlayStation®5, Windows PC (via Steam®), and XBOX Series X|S. A new trailer has been released offering a first look at the upcoming adventure.

I’m so excited to go back to the world of Aladiss! If you’ve played Atelier Yumia, you’ll remember it, but even if you haven’t, Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories seems like a great place to start. You play as Karia, an alchemist who’s lost her memories, and she’s on a journey to figure out who she is and what happened. She teams up with some cool characters – Servio, a biologist, and Fina, a strong fighter – to explore a hidden part of Aladiss. Plus, Yumia from the last game is helping her learn alchemy, which is awesome! It sounds like a really emotional story about rediscovering the past and appreciating the present, and I can’t wait to play it.

Like all games in the Atelier series, creating items through alchemy and synthesis is central to the gameplay. This goes beyond just making things for battles – it enriches the entire experience. Players will use a special cauldron hidden within Aladdiss’ underworld to craft unique items with a detailed system that combines planning and imagination. By connecting the magical components of different ingredients, you can alter the item’s effects, leading to countless possibilities and combinations.

The new game offers a completely different experience for fans, built around Karia’s innovative gameplay: a blend of alchemy and cooking. Players can eat the ingredients they find while exploring, which instantly creates fun and surprising effects – like growing animal ears or gaining special abilities from eating animal products.

The battle system in Atelier Yumia has been carefully improved, combining fast-paced action with thoughtful strategy. Players can react to enemy attacks by parrying in real-time, but also pause the action to carefully choose skills and items from a menu, giving them full control over the fight.

Alchemy isn’t just for combat anymore! Now, crafted items can help you explore the world, letting you access new areas and discover secret treasures. These items can also solve puzzles and even be used to collect resources. Plus, you can use them during base building to make things faster and more efficient.
