Season 3 of The Last of Us will feature a significant new character who wasn’t in the original games. Peter Sarsgaard, known for his role in The Batman, is set to play this character, who is likely to be the season’s antagonist.
Big changes are coming to the third season of HBO’s popular show, The Last of Us, which may also be its last. The show is based on the critically acclaimed video game by Naughty Dog.
So, the first two seasons of the show were run by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, the guy who actually made the game. But for Season 3, Druckmann’s moved on to other projects, which means Mazin is handling everything himself this time around. It’s all on him now!
The show is introducing a new character who will be a key figure among the intimidating Seraphites.
Peter Sarsgaard cast as new character in The Last of Us Season 3

Deadline reports that Peter Sarsgaard has been cast as Amon in Season 3 of The Last of Us. Amon is described as one of the leaders of the Seraphites.
The Seraphites, also known as The Scars, are a religious group who believe in the teachings of a leader who has passed away. They avoid using modern technology and are known for their harsh and violent treatment of those who oppose them.
I’m really excited for Season 3! From what I’ve heard, it’s going to center around Abby’s story, and that’s probably when we’ll finally see the Seraphites become a major part of the show.

Sarsgaard has a history of playing compelling villains, including a dishonest District Attorney in The Batman, as well as roles in Green Lantern and The Magnificent Seven.
Filming for The Last of Us takes place in Vancouver, but production is paused for a month because of the World Cup happening in Canada this week. It’s expected to start up again in July and continue until the end of the year, with the show scheduled to air in 2027.
