The Love Island USA app experienced a major crash, forcing the show to postpone Thursday night’s recoupling to Friday. While frustrating, Peacock worked to verify all votes and ensure the results accurately reflected viewer preferences. This year’s first vote saw a huge surge in participation – over 1 million votes, nearly 350% more than last year’s finale vote, according to The Hollywood Reporter. When voting opened on Tuesday, many users encountered errors. The app was eventually fixed, and the voting period was extended until Wednesday afternoon. Despite this, the crash meant the recoupling had to be delayed. Host Iain Stirling announced the change during Thursday’s episode, promising plenty of discussion for the first Aftersun episode. Will viewers create more drama by pairing Sol with Sincere, similar to last year’s pairing of Jeremiah and Iris? Or will Sincere have a surprising moment like Clarke’s from past seasons? Either way, Melanie deserves more than a 10!
