Okay, so I just saw this awesome Halloween costume on TikTok! This creator, Jessica Lowe, totally nailed a look inspired by Kpop Demon Hunters on Netflix. It’s seriously impressive! And get this – she made it a family thing, working on it with her 12-year-old daughter. It’s so cool when parents and kids can geek out together like that.
Kpop Demon Hunters, which premiered in June 2025, is a Netflix animated movie. It tells the story of a group of idol performers who secretly work as demon fighters.
In a TikTok video, costume designer Jessica Lowe shared that Netflix gave her the task of bringing Derpy the Tiger-a character from the film-to life through a recreation.
Crafter reveals KPop Demon Hunters Halloween costume
So, I made this costume, and let me tell you what went into it! The base was all upholstery foam, and I used a ton of faux fur to make it look really fluffy. The nose is actually made of polymer clay, which was cool to work with. And the teeth? Those were a combo of cardboard and foam clay. To finish it all off, I hit it with some spray paint and rubber spray. Finally, I used acrylic markers to add all the little spots on the chest – it really brought the whole thing to life!
The project featured bright LED eyes, a hat that could be taken off, and a friend called Sussy, which also lit up. Lowe shared that she picked up new crafting skills while working on it, such as shaping acrylic at home. She also used tips from the crafting community, like using razors and buzzers to get the fur just right.
The most impressive part of this costume is that the person wearing it can control Derpy’s eyes and tongue, which makes it both awesome and a little unsettling.
Her daughter tried on the costume and confirmed it allowed for easy movement. Lowe pointed out that the glowing eyes would likely seem either enchanting or frightening to children trick-or-treating on Halloween night. Halloween will be a fun night!
Lowe isn’t the first TikTok creator to become popular with a KPDH-inspired creation. Back in September, LaraCakes also gained attention for making a life-sized cake that looked exactly like Rumi, another key character in the series.
