Six Flags power outage forces guests to walk down roller coaster tracks as ride suddenly stops

A power failure at Six Flags in Arlington, Texas, left riders stranded on a roller coaster, requiring them to be safely escorted down the stairs next to the track after the ride stopped unexpectedly.

A video circulating online shows people cautiously walking down stairs built on the side of a roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas, with park employees in hard hats guiding them.

A park-wide power outage caused the park to close early on Saturday, May 16th. It wasn’t limited to just one attraction.

According to a Six Flags representative, a problem with the park’s electrical system caused the power outage.

A mother told WFAA that the park was so packed with people leaving that she temporarily lost track of her family.

We briefly lost track of our children in the crowd,” she said. “We had to stop and make sure everyone in our group was present.

Six Flags one of many businesses impacted by severe winds

According to WFAA, no one was hurt during the power outage, which was fixed by May 17th before businesses opened for the day.

The park is now welcoming visitors again, and Six Flags is offering a free ticket for a future visit to anyone who was there when it temporarily closed on May 16th.

Strong winds in North Texas caused a power outage that impacted around 30,000 customers, according to The Dallas Express.

I heard the wind wasn’t just a problem at Six Flags – it was everywhere! It was seriously strong enough to knock down trees, shut down a highway for a bit, and even made them cancel a concert at the Java House Grand Prix in Arlington. It was a pretty wild day, honestly!
