Apple TV+ features popular and highly-rated TV shows. While it’s not the leading streaming service, it boasts excellent content, such as the comedy series Platonic, with Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne.
Platonic first came out in 2023 with a season of 10 episodes. Then, in 2025, after two years, season 2 was released, also with 10 episodes. The final episode of season 2 aired on September 30th.

What’s next for this TV show? Sadly, we have disappointing news for viewers. As of now, there haven’t been any official announcements; Apple TV+ hasn’t confirmed a third season of Platonic, and its future remains uncertain.
Originally, Platonic was planned as a TV series with a new couple featured each season. However, while filming the first season, Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne had such great chemistry that the show’s creators decided to continue their characters’ storyline. Because of this shift in focus, it’s likely that the original cast would reprise their roles if a third season were to be produced for Platonic.
Seth Rogen is hoping to continue the TV show and explore what happens next with Will and Sylvia. He feels that if viewers are still enjoying Platonic, it makes sense to create more episodes, and he’s therefore open to the possibility of a third season (according to Decider).
I’m really enjoying working on Platonic and believe there are some fantastic stories ahead for the next season. I’d be happy to continue with the show for as long as viewers are enjoying it. It’s a project I’m passionate about, and I hope we can keep going!
The future of Platonic now rests with Apple TV+. The streaming platform will determine if the show will be renewed for a season beyond the current one.
