ZA/UM Studio recently revealed a detailed look at their upcoming game, ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies. The showcase included a new trailer, extended gameplay footage, a music video for the song “Ultra Violeta”, a fashion line from ZA/UM Atelier, and a tabletop role-playing game adventure that explores the history of the game’s city, Portofiro.

Developer Gameplay Deep-Dive

The highlight of the ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies Showcase is an 11-minute gameplay walkthrough. It’s hosted by Voice Director Jim Ashilevi and features commentary from Lead Producer Ruudu Ulas, Tech Art Lead Nicolas Pirot, and Principal Writer Siim “Kosmos” Sinamäe. This walkthrough provides a complete overview of ZERO PARADES and the world of Portofiro.

The team will explain what it means to be an operative in ZERO PARADES and introduce you to the game’s characters and groups. They’ll also show how a mission can change dramatically depending on how you choose to gather information.

According to Nicolas Pirot, Tech Art Lead at ZA/UM, each character type, or ‘spy archetype,’ dramatically changes how you experience the game. He explains that even the same mission can play out in surprising and different ways. ‘ZERO PARADES’ builds on the gameplay of Disco Elysium, giving players more options for dealing with any challenge they face.

Ultra Violeta’s Music Video ‘Cover the Moon’

The showcase began with a vibrant, psychedelic music video featuring the in-game artist Ultra Violeta. The song, ‘Cover the Moon,’ was created entirely by the team at ZA/UM – Fernando Cabrera composed the music, and Ella Norte provided the vocals.

The game features Luzian pop music being used as a tool for global domination. According to Audio Director Rubén Rincón, this music video is designed to showcase Ultra Violeta’s unique blend of spy themes and pop music. He believes this style, or ‘spy-pop’ genre, was always possible, it just needed the perfect artist to bring it to life.

Pen & Paper One-Shot Adventure

Finally, the voice actors hinted at a unique, over two-and-a-half-hour tabletop role-playing game adventure created by the storytellers behind the game. The actors themselves will be playing, and you can watch the recording on Steam.

Game Master: Boo Miller (narrator of ZERO PARADES)

Player Characters:

  • Lenval Brown (voice of Slava, the Ex-Pilot and famously the narrator of Disco Elysium)

  • Aavy Suárez (voice of Ultra Violeta)

  • Jonathan West (voice of HOLOCENE with multiple roles in Disco Elysium)

  • Isabel Salazar (voice of Melita)

This tabletop roleplaying game takes place in the history of Portofiro and offers a complete story players can enjoy at home. It will be available soon on zeroparades.com.

Play Together With Your Twitch Audience

Finally, ZA/UM revealed that a popular feature is coming back to Twitch! With the launch of ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies, a Twitch Extension will be available immediately. Players can connect their game to Twitch through the game’s settings and activate the ZERO PARADES Companion. This will let their viewers see a live overlay of important character details, including the Dossier, Inventory, Journal, Conditioning, and Map.

This Twitch Extension adds a button that lets viewers vote on what the streamer should say or which clues they should investigate next. Viewers cast their votes directly on the screen, and the results instantly appear in the game, letting the audience guide the story – it’s like a live, interactive poll!

According to lead writer Siim “Kosmos” Sinamäe, their game puts players in the role of spies who must make thoughtful choices, then lets the online community guide the story. He jokes, ‘What could possibly go wrong?’ He adds that, like a real democracy, the person in charge can choose to follow or ignore the community’s decisions.

You can check out the ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies Twitch Extension during a live stream event from May 15th to 17th, when the first players begin streaming the game on Twitch.

Okay, so I’m super excited to share that ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies is coming out on May 21, 2026! It’ll be available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG for $39.99. And good news for PlayStation 5 owners – it’s hitting PS5 later this year too! Plus, it’s confirmed to be Steam Deck Verified, and I’ll be able to stream it right away on GeForce NOW when it launches. Can’t wait!
