Umamusume has been transformed into a D&D game with new race

A fan-made Dungeons & Dragons campaign now lets players experience the world of Umamusume! You can race as your beloved anime horse girls by using dice rolls to determine the outcome.

Ever noticed the lack of horse girls in the Dungeons & Dragons rulebooks? Probably not, but one creative fan decided to combine their love of D&D with the game Umamusume, and the result is surprisingly good!

Want to try something new with your Dungeons & Dragons game? The ‘Umamusume D&D 5th Edition Race & Racing Rules’ lets you play as characters inspired by Umamusume, adding a unique twist to your adventures. If you’re looking for a break from traditional classes like Bards and Rogues, these horse-themed characters might be just what you need!

Umamusume gets the D&D treatment

The Umamusume characters each have unique abilities and characteristics that set them apart from other beings, as defined by the game’s rules.

They are fast, with excellent hearing and strong bodies. They also have a unique ability called “Final Spurt” which briefly doubles their running speed.

These characters are fluent in English, so you won’t have to worry about them communicating in horse sounds! Players can also select one of three subraces tailored for racing: Sprinter, All Arounder, and Stayer. Each subrace excels in different types of races and has varying levels of stamina.

This isn’t a game about fighting monsters, though. You won’t be defeating goblins or kicking skeletons – Umamusume D&D has a unique spin on the traditional formula.

Just for fun, I created a Dungeons & Dragons resource inspired by Umamusume! I’ve been working on it for a while, and while I haven’t fully tested the racing rules yet, I think they could add a really exciting element of chance to the game. Inspired by the hit game and anime, players will guide horse girls in exciting, fast-paced races! Before each race, you’ll need to use skill checks to see if your horse girl gains an advantage or falls behind the competition.

If you’re familiar with Dungeons & Dragons, you know getting good dice rolls is often challenging. Expect a lot of unpredictable luck – it’ll keep things exciting (and maybe frustrating!) right to the finish.

The campaign captures the feel of the original game’s racing, featuring four distinct driver types – Front Runners, Pace Chasers, Late Surgers, and End Closers – each with unique advantages that kick in at different points during a race.

The game even brings back the famous stamina system, now called “Athletic Endurance.” You’ll need to carefully watch your energy levels – push yourself too hard, and you’ll quickly fall behind, just like the character Haru Urara often did in races.

The game also features unique skills like speed boosts, quick energy recovery, advantages for players who are behind, and special abilities that can trigger when you’re close to winning.

Okay, so if I actually win, get this – I get to create and sing my own victory song! Seriously, I’ve been waiting for an excuse to play ‘Bakushin Bakushin Bakushinshin’ on repeat, and now I have one. I’m gonna be blasting it everywhere!

I never expected to see Umamusume and Dungeons & Dragons team up, but the game is known for its surprising collaborations. Just this year, they’ve released themed jewelry, horse girl-branded alcohol, and even a specially painted BMW racing car!
