Elden Ring 2026 DLC Officially Confirmed

FromSoftware is planning to add to the world of Elden Ring with a new edition, but fans are still wondering when the popular RPG will be available on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Plus, with a brand new game, The Duskbloods, expected to launch as a Switch 2 exclusive, a recent financial report may hint at a release timeframe for both titles.

As a huge Elden Ring fan, I’m so excited about the upcoming Elden Ring: The Tarnished Edition! It’s going to include everything – the original game, the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, and a ton of new stuff like weapons, skills, and armor. They’re even adding two completely new starting classes! One, the Knight of Ides, looks like it’ll be good for a balanced build, using a lighter greatsword. The other, which people are calling the ‘Heavy Armor Warrior’, is all about strength and wielding a massive greatsword. Honestly though, the best part for me is that they’re giving Torrent, our spectral steed, some new armor! That’s what I’ve been waiting for.

Originally revealed in 2025, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition doesn’t have a specific release date yet, but it’s currently planned for sometime in 2026.

Okay, so on top of everything else, FromSoftware is supposedly dropping a new game called The Duskbloods later this year. It’s a Switch 2 exclusive, which is huge, and it’s built around battles with up to eight players! We’ll be fighting in a dark fantasy world ruled by these vampire-like beings called Bloodsworn, doing both player-versus-player and player-versus-environment stuff. Apparently, each Bloodsworn vampire has its own special weapons and powers, and here’s what the official story is about…

As the human race faces its final days, a powerful force called the First Blood awakens, triggering a merging of places and times known as the Twilight. In this chaotic realm, the Bloodsworn must battle creatures who have evolved beyond human limitations through the power of blood.

As a huge FromSoftware fan, I’m so excited about The Duskbloods! It’s going to be their first game specifically for Nintendo since Lost Kingdoms II way back in 2003, and honestly, everyone is dying to know when it’s actually coming out. We’re still in the dark about the release date, which is killing me!

We now have a better idea of when to expect the release of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods. Kadokawa’s latest financial report confirms both FromSoftware games are still scheduled to launch in 2026, despite previous rumors about possible delays.

The report forecasts sales growth in FY2026, driven by several new mobile game launches. However, profit is expected to decrease from FY2025, primarily due to the performance of Elden Ring: Nightreign and its downloadable content. FromSoftware is projected to contribute Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and a brand new game, The Duskbloods, both planned for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

The report doesn’t give exact launch dates for either game, but it’s good to know that both Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods are still expected to come out in 2026. We’re hoping they’ll be released before then, if possible.
