The latest Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8 promo trailer hints at the conclusion of Chris Smith’s journey through the multiverse. Throughout the season, things have become increasingly intense with unexpected betrayals, changing partnerships, and dangers that span different realities. The last episode saw Chris give himself up to A.R.G.U.S., and Keith promising to get even, which means the finale will determine the future of Earth-X and the DCU.
Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8 trailer previews the finale
The trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8, titled “Full Nelson,” gives a sneak peek at the exciting finale. The video shows Christopher Smith, or Peacemaker, imprisoned again. He boldly states, “I’m the angel of fing death,” as Rick Flag Sr. spearheads an operation to investigate the alternate realities within the Quantum Unfolding Chamber. While A.R.G.U.S. is pursuing its own goals, the trailer shows the team wondering if their intentions are trustworthy.
The preview continues the story after the events of Episode 7. That episode showed Chris and his team arriving on Earth-X, a parallel world where the Nazis won World War II. Chris was momentarily happy to see his father, August, and brother, Keith, still alive, believing in a different reality. However, realizing the truth, he turned himself in to A.R.G.U.S. This decision leads to his imprisonment and places him at the heart of a crisis spanning multiple universes. Keith manages to survive and promises to seek revenge. The fallout from these events will clearly be significant.
James Gunn has stated that Season 2 serves as a backstory to Superman: Man of Tomorrow (2027). The season finale establishes the partnership between Flag Sr. and Lex Luthor as an important connection to the larger DCU. Viewers anticipate that Captain Triumph and other dangers from across the multiverse will confront Chris and his team as they navigate the ever-changing realities within the chamber.
When questioned about a potential third season, Gunn stated, “A new season isn’t happening at the moment. While that’s true, it doesn’t rule out future stories involving these characters, though it might not be as a direct continuation in Season 3 of Peacemaker. I recommend viewers watch Episode 8, as it might provide answers to some of their questions on its own” (via Collider).
The final episode of The Peacemaker Season 2, titled “Full Nelson,” will be available to stream on HBO Max starting Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 9:00 p.m. ET. The show features a cast including John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Frank Grillo, Sol Rodríguez, David Denman, Brey Noelle, and Tim Meadows. You can catch the premiere on HBO Max.
