Echoes of Aincrad will have Live to Survive by Aimer as the game’s theme song

Bandai Namco announced that the theme song for Echoes of Aincrad will be Live to Survive, performed by singer Aimer.

Fans will first hear snippets of the song in commercials for the game, airing on Japanese TV channels Tokyo MX and BS11 during replays of the Sword Art Online anime’s Aincrad story arc. Bandai Namco announced that the complete Japanese, English, and instrumental versions of the song will be released digitally on July 1st.

I’m so excited! This is the first time Aimer is doing a theme song for Sword Art Online, which is huge! She’s already done so many amazing theme songs for other popular series like Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, the Fate/stay night and Fate/hollow ataraxia anime and games, NieR: Automata, and even Demon Slayer. Her songs always add so much to the atmosphere, and I can’t wait to hear what she does with this!

The Japanese press release features a statement from Aimer, which we’ve translated and included below. “Echoes of Aincrad” will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC (via Steam) on July 10th. Players in Japan and Asia can enjoy the console versions starting a day earlier, on July 9th.

I’m so excited! Aimer just released the theme song, “Live to Survive,” for the new Sword Art Online game, Echoes of Aincrad. Honestly, listening to it, I can already tell it’s going to get my heart racing while I play – it’s exactly the kind of song that fits the game’s energy!
