Get ready for some new words in Simlish! Netflix and EA are combining the worlds of Bridgerton and The Sims 4 with a new bundle called Lady Bridgerton’s Masquerade Ball. Sandie Bailey from Shondaland explains that the popularity of Bridgerton comes from how relatable the characters and world are, making a partnership with The Sims a natural fit. Players will be able to create their ideal Sims and immerse themselves in the Bridgerton universe as their true selves. And yes, that means Lady Whistledown is coming to The Sims, and she’s sure to cause a stir!
Starting May 12th, players of The Sims 4 will have two new options to enhance their game: the Lady Bridgerton’s Masquerade Ballroom kit and the Lady Bridgerton’s Masquerade Ball Fashion kit. The Ballroom kit focuses on building and decorating, letting you create stunning spaces, while the Fashion kit lets you design Sims with beautiful new clothes, jewelry, and hairstyles. If you purchase both kits, you’ll also receive a special bundle with extra romantic items like a gazebo, piano, and bassinet, according to Netflix. Expect to find elegant ballroom decorations in one kit and gorgeous gowns, waistcoats, and masks in the other. Plus, there will be a limited-time in-game event where you can earn even more rewards.
There’s a surprising amount of overlap between The Sims and Bridgerton. Both are known for putting a unique spin on popular music (who could forget the Sims version of Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night”?), feature more diverse and LGBTQ+ representation than many games and shows, and even include deadly bees! Family lines are also important in both worlds. Sims players who build family legacies across generations are a lot like the characters in Bridgerton, focused on having heirs and continuing the family name. The Sims 4 has even explored royal themes before, with the Royalty & Legacy expansion pack adding nobility, succession, and even secret illegitimate children to the game. Though, let’s be real, fully exploring those themes often requires a certain mod!
