Twitch issues warnings to streamers who visit viral looksmaxxing site ‘Omoggle’

Twitch is warning streamers that using the website Omoggle during their broadcasts violates the platform’s rules.

I just discovered this new site called Omoggle, and it’s basically like Omegle, but with a fun twist! It randomly connects you in a video chat with another person, and the whole point is to try and ‘out-mog’ them – it’s all about showing off and having a little friendly competition, as far as I can tell!

The platform uses AI to analyze users’ facial features, specifically the angle of their eyes (canthal tilt), and ranks them. While popular within the ‘looksmaxxing’ community – a group focused on improving physical appearance – many others visit the site simply for entertainment and humorous content.

I’m hearing some pretty concerning news – apparently, Twitch is now warning people who visit the site while they’re already live streaming somewhere else. It’s a bit of a shock, and I’m definitely worried about what this means for streamers who multi-stream.

Omoggle & chat-roulette-style sites are not allowed on Twitch

Twitch doesn’t allow the use of random video chat services on its platform. This is because streamers have no control over the content that appears, and it could violate their community guidelines.

The platform’s rules strictly prohibit unpredictable or uncontrollable video content, as it could be harmful to viewers. For example, sites like Ome TV are specifically mentioned as posing this kind of risk.

Omegle shut down in 2023, but many websites have popped up trying to offer a similar experience – Omoggle is one of the most popular.

Twitch isn’t the only platform cracking down on random chatrooms. Other big companies are doing the same. Apple, for instance, has removed apps from its App Store that feature these kinds of chats, specifically prohibiting features like rating people’s appearances – similar to what Omoggle offered.
