Viral mod turns Need for Speed: Carbon into a absurd rhythm game

A popular mod for Need for Speed: Carbon turns racing into a fast-paced rhythm game, challenging players to steer and hit notes in time with the music.

From trying to beat your best lap in Forza Horizon 5 to dodging the infamous Blue Shell in Mario Kart, racing games are always full of exciting, fast-paced action.

Someone with impressive modding skills has combined the fast-paced street racing of Need for Speed: Carbon with a complete rhythm game, creating a unique experience.

Feel the rhythm of the drive

Players of Capcom’s game, Pragmata, are familiar with having to manage two different gameplay elements simultaneously. If you haven’t played it, Pragmata challenges you to complete a hacking puzzle while fighting robots, and succeeding at the puzzle increases the damage you deal to those enemies.

RhythmCarbon challenges you to juggle multiple tasks at once – instead of controlling a robot, you’ll be clicking buttons while you drive.

Similar to other rhythm games, this one gives you points based on accuracy and timing. The better you hit the notes, the higher your score will be thanks to a combo multiplier system.

And that’s not all – the cars even move comically to the music! Seeing Darius, the main villain from Need for Speed: Carbon, dancing and spinning to Hatsune Miku was definitely a surprise, but here we are.

If you’re excited for Forza Horizon 6 or just enjoy challenging racing and rhythm games, CarbonRhythm is definitely worth checking out. You can find the mod and everything you need to play it on its official page.

CarbonRhythm is a unique fighting game that’s gaining attention – players actually have to bark into their microphones to succeed, though it’s not the strangest viral game of the year.
