The connection between Hugh and Diana in Pragmata is so sweet, it’s inspired a lot of people to wish they could be supportive, fun-loving dads. Watching Diana experience new things is a real highlight and makes the game even more enjoyable.
Diana is a young and curious character, and her fresh perspective leads to some really sweet and charming lines. Let’s highlight some of her most adorable quotes from the game Pragmata.
Once you’ve finished setting everything up, you’ll either be diving in for your first playthrough, or getting right back into the game for another run. Honestly, I’m already planning my second!
10. “A Kitty Could Pop Out of Nowhere”
That’s Why You Bring a Net

At the beginning of the game, Diana discovers a holographic cat and starts chasing after it. This playful moment isn’t a one-time event; Diana references it again throughout the game.
A really sweet moment happens when you gift her the bug net. After receiving it, she’ll playfully explain that you can’t predict when a cat might appear, and she needs a net to be ready to catch one if she gets the chance!
It’s just the cutest little thing! It reminds me of when she first tried to catch a cat – it didn’t go so well! But it’s also her way of saying she’ll be more careful and prepared next time, which is sweet.
9. Flying with Balloons
You Need a Lot of Them
In Pragmata, you’ll encounter other robotic entities—REMs—and one of them is covered in balloons. Diana enjoys playing with the balloons around the shelter, but she definitely wants even more of them!
Once she’s finished playing with the balloons and tumbles over, she’ll ask, “If we had a bunch more and tied them to me, do you think I could fly?”
When Hugh pretends to agree, Diana excitedly asks, “Really? Can I fly?” It’s a sweet moment that brings a smile to your face and reminds you of the imaginative games you played as a child, making it even more endearing.
8. Diana’s Dresses
She Wants New Clothes
If you give Diana presents, she’ll thank you with artwork – drawings she displays all around the animal shelter.
Most of the drawings depict scenes from the game, but one is different. It shows Diana wearing additional clothing.
When Diana shows this to someone, Hugh always guesses it’s a picture of a princess, but Diana quickly corrects him, excitedly explaining, “No! It’s me in a pretty dress! I hope I can wear something like it someday!” It’s a sweet way of seeing how much she dreams of life beyond the moon and trying new things.
7. “Hugh. Diana.”
“Hugh. Diana.”
Early in the game, there’s a really sweet interaction between Diana and Hugh. Hugh has just lost his team and meets Diana, and the two of them get on a tram together.
Hugh swiftly changed Diana’s identification from a code – D-I-03367 – to simply her name, Diana. She reacted by repeatedly pointing between herself and Hugh, saying, “Hugh. Diana. Hugh. Diana. Hugh. Diana.”
It’s just the cutest thing! When Hugh puts on his helmet, Diana actually stops what she’s doing, but then he points at her and says, “Diana!” and her face just lights up. It makes the whole scene feel so playful and sweet. And then, she bounces out of the tram, shouting her name – it’s absolutely adorable!
6. Got Hit by a Car
“But I’m Okay”
It’s incredibly sweet watching Diana play with the robotic toys at the shelter. She immediately started having fun with one of them – a remote-controlled car – and drove it all around.
Using her hacking abilities, she causes the car to spin in circles and perform stunts. As she does this, she confidently declares, “Don’t worry, sir, I’ve got this – I’ll make sure the lights stay green!”
As soon as she jumps, she yells, “AAH! Look out! Ahh, I bumped into something, but I’m fine!” It’s so typical of kids and their playful energy, which just makes the whole thing even cuter.
5. “If I Break”
“Just Fix Me Back Up”
We’ve talked about the adorable thing the cat did before, and it’s just too cute not to mention again! We also want to share the related scene that played out on the counter.
Diana spotted the cat and excitedly chased after it, but she stumbled and fell. Luckily, Hugh caught her! He immediately told her she was being careless, but Diana playfully replied that he could always put her back together if she got hurt. It’s a sweet example of how children often feel unbreakable.
But then she says it’s better to completely rebuild her if she’s damaged, which is confusing. So, Diana, should we rebuild you from the ground up, or just repair what’s broken?
4. “No Blood”
“Means No Moving”
Diana was really impressed as she walked around the shops. The whole area was designed to look like New York City, and there was so much to see!
As they walked through the shops and saw the mannequins, Hugh explained to Diana that they were designed to resemble people, but lacked the spark of life. Diana, always quick with a simple observation, replied, “Of course, and without blood, they can’t move!”
Hugh tries to explain to Diana that people have a certain emotional quality, a “warmth.” Diana, not understanding, immediately assumes he’s referring to body temperature – over 36 degrees Celsius. This highlights either her non-human nature or her tendency to approach everything from a purely scientific perspective.
3. Maybe She Wasn’t Good Enough
That’s Why She Was in Storage
You can talk to Diana while you’re at the shelter. Chatting with her will reveal interesting things about her and her story as you progress in the game.

Hugh will begin a conversation about why Diana was put into storage. He’ll comment that she doesn’t appear outdated and ask why she wasn’t being used. Diana will reply, admitting she’s unsure, suggesting she may have been replaced or wasn’t performing well enough.
We often find ourselves admiring Diana because she’s a valuable player and consistently makes significant contributions during games.
2. Diana is Bored
“Let’s Pretend We’re Cats!”
Diana is a surprisingly imaginative robot. When Hugh feels restless at the shelter, he’ll sometimes ask Diana if she ever gets bored. Diana always turns the question back to him, asking if he’s bored instead.
Diana suggests they play pretend, saying, “Let’s be cats! I’ll be a striped cat, and you can be a fluffy white one!” However, Hugh declines her playful offer.
Diana doesn’t often let her imagination take over, but when she does, it’s really cute. It’s a shame Hugh isn’t as playful and doesn’t join in the fun.
1. “Getting Struck by Lightning”
It’s Pretty Shocking
Diana has been spending a lot of time with Hugh and has picked up a few of his jokes. At the Terra Dome, visitors experience simulated weather, including realistic lightning storms.
Being struck by lightning is obviously unpleasant, but Diana has a good sense of humor about it. If you’re around her, you might even hear her quip, “Being struck by lightning… that was pretty shocking, Hugh!”
Hugh joked, “Like the saying goes about lightning, hopefully next time it’ll be the robots who have trouble!” He was referencing the idea that lightning never strikes the same place twice. And with that, we’ll wrap things up here.
