The new Street Fighter movie hopes to finally deliver a successful film adaptation, as previous attempts haven’t quite lived up to expectations. There’s a lot of pressure on this movie to succeed, largely because fans have been eagerly waiting for a Street Fighter film that truly captures the spirit of the games.
For the movie to be a success, the fight scenes need to be amazing. Fans are eager to finally see iconic battles from the Street Fighter game brought to life on the big screen. Looking at the movie’s cast, there’s potential for many classic fights to happen.
The trailers have given us a sneak peek at a few potential fights, but there are still many more battles we don’t know about that could appear in the finished movie. Here are some of the most exciting ones we’re hoping to see.
10. Dan vs A Gentle Breeze
Hardly A Street Fighter

Dan Hibiki was intentionally designed as a comical, clumsy character in the Street Fighter series – basically, the most unskilled fighter around. So, it feels fitting that he’s easily defeated by something random in the new movie, like slipping on a banana peel or getting hit by a falling piano. It’s exactly the kind of silly misfortune you’d expect for Dan.
It would be hilarious to see Dan defeated by something completely harmless – like being knocked out by a feather or even losing a fight to a child. The key is that he needs to be thoroughly embarrassed in the movie.
9. Blanka vs E. Honda
A Big Boy Brawl
E. Honda and Blanka feel a little odd alongside the other characters. Plus, neither of them has a clear opponent in the new movie. Why not pit them against each other in a fight? Imagine Blanka trying to bite E. Honda’s stomach – that would be a memorable scene!
I might be a little biased here – Blanka and E. Honda are my go-to characters in Street Fighter 2! But putting them against each other would be a great fight, and it would give both characters a good role in the movie.
8. Dhalsim vs Zangief
A Classic Mismatch
Okay, so as a Street Fighter player, I’ve noticed some seriously unbalanced matchups. Dhalsim is a real problem for Zangief. Dhalsim’s crazy long limbs and fireballs just shut down Zangief’s whole grappling style. It’s weird, because Zangief is supposed to be this super strong, tank-like character, but he gets totally outplayed by Dhalsim, who seems really fragile. It’s a total opposite of what you’d expect!
It’s interesting to think about how the distinct differences between Zangief and Dhalsim in the Street Fighter games might play out in the new movie. The trailer shows Zangief doing his famous slams, but we haven’t seen how Dhalsim’s unique abilities will look yet. Their fight could be very one-sided, which would be exciting to watch.
7. Guile vs Zangief
A Cold War
The new Street Fighter movie seems to be setting up a classic showdown: a typical American hero against a powerful, enhanced Russian wrestler. It’s a bit of a predictable, overly patriotic pairing, but with the emphasis on Guile’s character, this fight feels inevitable. It has the potential to be similar to the iconic battle between Rocky and Ivan Drago.
Since the new Street Fighter movie appears to be embracing a fun, over-the-top style, a fight between these characters feels necessary. It’s hard to say who would win – either one is possible – but considering what’s happening in the world today, Guile seems like the more likely victor.
6. Cammy vs Chun-Li
Clash of the Thighs

The new Street Fighter movie’s trailer shows a fiery face-off between Chun-Li and Cammy, hinting at an epic fight to come. Both characters are known as incredibly strong fighters within the Street Fighter world, and fans are excited to see their signature moves – Cammy’s cannon spike and Chun-Li’s spinning bird kick – brought to life on screen.
It would be a huge disappointment if this fight doesn’t happen in the movie. Fans really want to see a final battle between the two main characters, the most powerful fighters in Street Fighter. Let’s hope the film doesn’t let us down.
5. Ken vs Ryu
A Heated Rivalry
The long-standing friendship and competition between Ryu and Ken are central to the Street Fighter franchise. It would be very strange if the new movie didn’t show them fighting or training together, and trailers have already hinted at some action between them, though we don’t yet know the details.
Ken and Ryu are constantly competing, both by challenging each other to improve their skills and through intense physical battles. It remains to be seen how much of this rivalry will be featured in the upcoming film.
4. Ryu vs Sagat
Deep Scars
Although Sagat doesn’t appear as a character in the new Street Fighter movie, it’s likely we’ll see a flashback to his famous fight with Ryu from the original arcade game. Ryu’s victory over Sagat in the first Street Fighter tournament left Sagat with a large scar on his chest and a strong need for revenge.
Given how important this moment is to the game’s overall story, it’s almost certain we’ll see it in the new movie. It’s a little strange that Vega, Balrog, Cammy, and Juli are confirmed as part of Shadaloo, but we haven’t heard anything about Sagat yet. Hopefully, the filmmakers are just keeping some characters a secret to surprise the audience.
3. Akuma vs Ryu
Fighting Your Demons
Lots of characters are after Ryu, and Akuma is definitely one of them. Their fight is really about Ryu’s inner self – Akuma keeps trying to make him give in to his anger. It’s like Akuma represents Ryu’s own internal struggle for control and calmness. Though, Ryu’s inner thoughts probably couldn’t defeat him with a powerful attack like Akuma’s.

It doesn’t make sense for Akuma to appear in the new Street Fighter movie without challenging Ryu. Leaving that fight out would be a huge missed opportunity and a disappointment for fans. That showdown really needs to happen!
2. Vega vs Chun-Li
Destroying Something Beautiful
Longtime fans of Street Fighter remember an epic fight between Vega and Chun-Li in the original animated movie. Vega was severely beaten in that battle, and many are hoping to see a rematch between these two characters in the upcoming live-action film.
Vega is portrayed as someone who’s overly concerned with his appearance and avoids getting hurt in fights, which ironically makes you want to fight him even more. The new movie should capture this vanity and give audiences a satisfying reason to root for Chun-Li when she takes him on.
1. Chun-Li vs M. Bison
Will Justice Be Served?

As a long-time Street Fighter player, I always knew Chun-Li was fighting for one thing: revenge on M. Bison for her father’s death, and I’m guessing that’s still her main goal in the new movie. But let’s be real, Bison is the final boss, and Ryu is probably going to step in if things get tough. So, while I’m rooting for Chun-Li, I’m not so sure she’s guaranteed to win it all.
A battle between these two characters would be a highlight of the new Street Fighter movie, and fans would be disappointed if it doesn’t happen. Chun-Li has earned the opportunity to compete for the championship.
