Hi everyone! We’re thrilled to return to the PlayStation Blog with a new trailer for Zero Parades: For Dead Spies. Last September during State of Play, we gave you a look at what makes Zero Parades unique with its gameplay. Today, we’re excited to start introducing you to the characters who drive our story.
In Zero Parades, you take on the role of Hershel Wilk, known as Cascade – a highly skilled but troubled spy working for the Operant Bureau. She’s been reactivated for a critical mission. Five years ago, her former team, the Whole Sick Crew, was destroyed. Now, she must try to rebuild what’s left of them.
Karolina
Cryptonym: Kindred
You were the youngest of the original team, almost like a little sibling to everyone. You trained K in everything she knows about stealth and secret operations – from sneaking into places to conducting interrogations and much more. The last time you saw her, she was working undercover at a cutting-edge Dream Study, and she could still be there now.
Ramses
Cryptonym: Radian
So, Ramses was our tech guy, the best when it came to listening in and figuring out audio stuff. Seriously, if you needed a line tapped or a room bugged, he was your man. But more than that, he was actually a good friend – one of the few in the old crew I really trusted and could relax around. I really miss just chilling with him, you know? We used to sink into this old couch and just… talk. He always rolled the perfect joint, and those were good times.
Tempo
Cryptonym: Taxman
Tempo isn’t just noticeable when he enters a room – people feel his influence even when he’s not there. He’s a powerful figure in Portofira’s criminal world, capable of acquiring anything, whether through legitimate or illegal means. He recognized the potential of Luzian technology and culture early on, and has become incredibly wealthy because of it. You’ll easily spot him by his flamboyant way of talking and the constant stream of imported Ouroboros Black cigarettes he smokes.
Vespar
Cryptonym: Virtue
Vespar is one of Portofiro’s top police investigators, a member of the elite carabineros. He has strong connections with both the city’s officials and underworld informants, making him a key source for secret information. Whether he’s working or off-duty, you’ll often find him at the Fogged Mirror bar.
Eszti
Cryptonym: Estoc
Eszti was a sharp, direct, and highly skilled operative working undercover within the Portofiran government, acting as a contact for EMTERR – a large international development bank that also operated as an intelligence agency. She bravely alerted you to a security breach within the network, but when it was time to escape, you abandoned her – and others – to face the consequences alone.
Holocene
Real name unknown
Holocene is your mysterious right-hand person and the team’s code expert. He’s got a theory about pretty much everything – he even believes a rival spy agency is run by cats! He’s the one to call if you need a code broken, but don’t expect a typical conversation.
You’re facing a difficult task involving a group known as the Whole Sick Crew – those you’ve previously abandoned. To succeed, you’ll need to regain the trust of at least some of them. It’s not simply about figuring out who you can rely on, but whether they can rely on you.
Zero Parades: For Dead Spies is coming this year on PS5. Wishlist it today.
