The popular game Umamusume: Pretty Derby is celebrating with some extravagant releases, including gold-flavored soft-serve ice cream, gold-leaf merchandise, and even a taxi decorated entirely in gold!
After recently giving away genuine 24-karat gold coins to six winners, Umamusume developer Cygames has announced even more high-end merchandise.
The popular horse-themed game has partnered with a skilled artisan to create a special collection of high-quality items decorated with real gold leaf.
Umamusume releases edible gold ice cream
The collaboration features luxurious items like a gold-leaf framed artwork ($350), gold-leaf glass trays ($42), and gold-leaf acrylic coasters ($24). Each piece is decorated with authentic gold leaf, applied using a centuries-old technique from Kanazawa, Japan, dating back to the 1500s.
Similar to the gold medals being awarded, these special collectibles all showcase a golden horse. Most of them celebrate the legacy of Stay Gold, a famous Japanese racehorse whose family tree includes other winning horses such as Orfevre, Dream Journey, and Gold Ship.
I’m really excited about Nakayama Festa and Fenomeno – you know, those two are based on real racehorses who were HUGE stars! But it’s not just about fancy, high-class items these days, there’s a lot more catching everyone’s attention.
They even have a luxurious gold leaf soft serve ice cream, complete with edible gold flakes and Umamusume-themed wafers. If you’re already splurging on fancy items, why not treat yourself to something sweet too?
But that’s before you get a ride home in the special taxi – it’s gold-colored and covered in pictures of Stay Gold!
A special collaboration between Gold Week and Umamusume is happening in Japan from May 2nd to May 31st, 2026. Some parts of the event, like the Stay Gold taxi service, will continue running until June 30th.
Umamusume has released high-end merchandise before, and this time is no different. Fans can now buy jewelry based on the popular horse girls, and even enjoy a vodka cocktail inspired by the character Vodka.
