Konami recently added characters from the popular anime Naruto Shippuden to its eFootball game for a limited time, letting players experience a special crossover event.
Imagine playing football with ninja moves like the Rasen Shuriken or Chidori! What if you could celebrate scoring a goal with Naruto, or even call on Sasuke’s powerful Susano’o during the game?
It sounds surprising, but a recent collaboration has made it happen. Actual players from the game are now featured as cards themselves, each with unique abilities based on who they are.
For instance, Neymar Jr. is teaming up with the famous Naruto Uzumaki. The collaboration doesn’t stop with the main characters from Naruto Shippuden – they’ve also included members of the Akatsuki organization.
eFootball adds player cards with Naruto special effects and more
The campaign has begun and will continue until May 14, 2026. While it’s running, you can participate in events to earn many different rewards.
From the trailer and blog, here’s the lineup of the cards:
Main side:
- Neymar Jr. – Naruto
- Takefuso Kubo – Sasuke
- Martin Ødegaard – Shikamaru
- Robert Lewandowski – Kakashi
Meanwhile, on the Akatsuki side:
- Rafael Leão – Deidara
- Alexis Saelemaekers – Pain (Nagato)
- Christian Pulisic – Obito (Tobi)
- Luka Modrić – Itachi
Okay, so some of the cards, like Naruto and Sasuke, actually look amazing – they have special effects based on their famous moves! And the coolest part? When you score a goal, there are unique celebrations that mix these characters together. It’s seriously awesome!
The collection also features special Epic Worldwide Cards, like those featuring Gareth Bale, Marcelo, and Aubameyang, as part of the collaboration.
The event also offers exciting rewards like large-scale Kyubi and Susano’o props, a Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura-themed stadium display, unique goal and kick-off animations, and daily login bonuses, among other things.
Just a heads-up: the majority of prizes from the Challenge Event won’t be accessible until May 7, 2026.
The game now features Naruto-inspired decorations in the stadium, going beyond just character cards and outfits. The banners featuring characters from Shippuden are a great addition, and along with the statues, they really make it feel like you’re entering a match in the Hidden Leaf Village.

Honestly, what got me hyped about this crossover is seeing actual players running around with Naruto characters – and even copying their signature moves! Like, I saw Robert Lewandowski totally nail Kakashi’s pose in the trailer, it was awesome!
