007 First Light Officially Offering Free DLC, Available Until May 25

Fans can now experience the world of their favorite spy, even before the release of 007 First Light.

IO Interactive has announced a new addition to the Hitman: World of Assassination series, but it’s only available for a limited time – until May 25th. Players who pre-order 007 First Light will receive a new mission where Agent 47 faces off against Le Chiffre, once again played by Mads Mikkelsen.

If you pre-order the new 007 First Light game before May 25th, you’ll get free access to the latest downloadable content for Hitman: World of Assassination. This new content adds the character Le Chiffre, as played by Mads Mikkelsen in Casino Royale, to the game, along with other additions related to the Season of the Royal Ace event.

Players can unlock several new items, including a classic “Timeless Tuxedo Suit.” The Banker Pack offers high-end gear like the “King of Cards Suit” and a “Silenced Pistol.” Plus, exclusive items are being given away on Twitch, such as the “Casino Monarchique Chip” (available until May 25th) and the “Purple Steak Wrench” (available until May 28th).

This is the newest of several moves IO Interactive has made to build anticipation for their upcoming game. The game stars Patrick Gibson as James Bond, showing his journey to earn his 00 status within MI6.

Earlier Bond films showed him earning his “00” designation by killing a disloyal MI6 leader and an accomplice in Prague. However, it’s still unclear how closely the new game, 007 First Light, will follow that original storyline.

In the upcoming game 007 Dying Light, players will experience James Bond’s beginnings as a new recruit in MI6. The story reveals how Bond became the famous spy we know today. After showing bravery, young James Bond is invited to join the Double 0 program. However, a mission to stop a dangerous agent goes wrong, and Bond must team up with his mentor, Greenway, to uncover a hidden conspiracy and prevent a takeover.

Fans received the opening cinematic in mid-April, and it was quickly praised by both critics and players. The sequence includes a new song called “First Light,” created by Lana Del Rey and David Arnold. IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak shared that seeing these two talented artists collaborate was wonderful, and the result sounds both classic Bond and uniquely fresh for 007 First Light.

007 First Light is currently slated for release on May 27.
