BookTok sensation Jennifer L. Armentrout is partnering with Hellmann’s for a special collaboration, bringing together the worlds of romantic fantasy and, surprisingly, condiments!
The New York Times bestselling author is releasing a special edition of her novel, The Primal of Blood and Bone, called the Craven-Proof Edition. Taking inspiration from Hellmann’s Garlic Aioli, this limited print run uses ink infused with garlic, intended to protect readers from the series’ vampire-like creatures, the Craven.
“All of my stories center around the idea of connection-how characters relate to each other, how readers connect with the story, and how they become immersed in the world I’ve created,” explained Armentrout. “Working with Hellmann’s allowed us to bring that feeling to life in a new way, using the senses to create an experience that’s as captivating and memorable as reading a fantastic book.”
Garlic ink, free aioli, and book club recipes
I just found out about the Craven-Proof Edition, and you can snag it on the Hellman’s website. But here’s the cool part – if I head to Armentrout’s shop, Miss Willa’s Bookshop in Charles Town, West Virginia, I’ll also get a free bottle of Hellmann’s Garlic Aioli! It’s while supplies last, so I gotta hurry if I want one!
Okay, so Hellmann’s is going all-in on that The Primal of Blood and Bone hype, and honestly, I’m here for it! They’ve created three recipes specifically for book clubs – which is a super clever idea, by the way. There’s The Casteel-erole, Poppy’s Platter, and these awesome Garlic Sliders of the Ascended. Each one is based on something from the book, and you can find all the recipes online at their campaign site. I’m definitely trying these out for my next gaming night!
It’s unusual for a condiment company to get involved with BookTok, but Hellmann’s likes to do the unexpected,” explained Jessica Grigoriou, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Condiments at Unilever North America. “We recognized an opportunity to introduce our flavorful Garlic Aioli to Jennifer’s dedicated followers, combining great taste with compelling stories.”
Even before the TikTok community known as BookTok became popular, Jennifer Armentrout was already a successful author. However, her books-particularly the Blood and Ash series-were among the very first romantic fantasy novels to go hugely viral on the short-form video app, attracting millions of viewers.
