Runner completes London Marathon in record-breaking time while wearing a suit

A runner recently completed the London Marathon in a little over three hours while wearing a complete business suit – including a tie and dress shoes! He even set a new record for doing so.

Major marathons consistently attract two distinct groups: incredibly skilled runners and those who choose to participate in fun, unusual costumes.

People attempt these things for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes it’s to support a good cause, other times to gain popularity online, and occasionally just to achieve something extraordinary and get their name in the record books.

Man sets incredible time in London Marathon in a full suit

Boudewijn Dominicus recently completed the London Marathon in a remarkable outfit: a full suit, complete with shirt, tie, and dress shoes. Considering the weather in London was around 70-72°F, it was quite an accomplishment.

Despite the bulky costume, Dominicus finished the race in a great time of three hours, twenty-one minutes, and forty-two seconds.

That time saw him break the world record for a male running a marathon while wearing formal attire.

Okay, so this is seriously cool! I just saw that Boudewijn Dominicus absolutely crushed the London Marathon – and get this, he did it wearing a full suit and dress shoes! His time was 3:21:42, which is unbelievably fast for anyone, let alone someone in that getup! Major props to him! #LondonMarathon

Dominicus enjoys running as a hobby and has participated in races before, using them as opportunities to raise money for good causes. He’s originally from the Netherlands and once famously ran a long race dressed as Fred Flintstone!

Okay, so London was buzzing this weekend, and it wasn’t just me gaming! Apparently, Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba in Wicked, actually ran the marathon, which is amazing enough, but get this – they played ‘Defying Gravity’ as she crossed the finish line! It was super close, too – she beat another runner, Dominicus, by only two seconds. Seriously cool!

The race featured some truly unique participants, including a man running with a refrigerator, two friends in dinosaur costumes, and someone dressed as Daddy Pig. Despite the warm spring weather, one person even showed up in a full Santa Claus suit!
