Toho Games announced that it will stop supporting Sakuna of Rice and Ruin: Hinuka’s Traversing Spirit Tale on July 27th at 4:59 PM Japan Standard Time. As a free-to-play game, it will also be phasing out in-game purchases. Starting April 27th at 5:00 PM JST, only the smallest gem pack (160 yen) will be available for purchase. All purchases will be disabled on May 28th at 10:59 JST. Players in Japan with domestic bank accounts will be eligible for refunds after the game shuts down.
The mobile game launched on February 5th and has been available for a little over two months. However, with this recent announcement, it will only be playable for a total of five months and 22 days.
The game was originally planned as a free-to-play title on PC through Steam, but it would have only been available in Japan. The publisher has now announced that the PC Steam version has been canceled.
Toho Games has announced the remaining update schedule for the game. The last big content additions will be released throughout May.
