Crimson Desert 1.04 Update: Pet Birds, Housing Changes, and More Cats

Pearl Abyss is rapidly updating Crimson Desert, consistently delivering popular features like new permanent mounts, and they plan to continue at this pace.

The latest update, version 1.04, is now available! It introduces birds as new pets you can tame, and significantly overhauls the housing system.

Previously, your house in Crimson Desert was mainly for decorating and didn’t have a significant function beyond that. Now, it offers much more utility and purpose.

Crimson Desert Adds Major Housing System Improvements and More Pets

If you’re a Greymane player who loves collecting pets more than earning silver or getting powerful weapons, you’ll be excited to learn that update 1.04 includes five new cat companions, and now you can also collect birds!

To earn the trust of birds in Pywel, you’ll first need to complete a quest and get the Sotdae of Bond. This new item lets you feed specific birds you find as you explore.

We’ve added a new item called the Sigil of Bonding. When equipped on your cat, it will stay on your shoulder for a longer time.

I’ve spent 75 hours playing Crimson Desert, and while my house was bare before, I now have a great reason to start decorating! Pearl Abyss recently added four new storage options you can place in your home, and you can also now customize the layout of your house itself.

The storage containers added to Crimson Desert in Patch 1.04 are as follows:

  • Sturdy Gatherables Chest — Has 1,000 slots and allows you to use the materials stored inside for crafting and refinement (you don’t have to carry the resources in your inventory).
  • Kuku Cooler (40 slots) and Enhanced Kuku Cooler (330 slots) — Used to store food items and ingredients. Ingredients stored in these coolers can be used when they’re not in your inventory.
  • Collectibles Chest — Has 1,000 slots and can store crafting recipes and quest items.
  • Added outfit storage to the wardrobe — Can be purchased from furniture shops and has a maximum storage of 1,000 slots.

These new storage containers are a huge improvement for players. They eliminate the need to constantly manage large amounts of resources while cooking, crafting, or refining, freeing up more time for exploration.

Previously, your house in Crimson Desert was mostly just a fun way to decorate, without playing a significant role in the game itself.

Players who’ve joined the Greymane alliance now have exciting new ways to personalize their homes! Pearl Abyss has expanded house customization, allowing players to unlock and change the layout of their houses as they progress through the Greymane Camp expansion.

They’ve added some new difficulty settings, which is awesome! Now I can pick between easy, normal, and hard, depending on how I’m feeling. Plus, Pearl Abyss said we’ll be able to refight bosses soon, which is a huge win – I always want another shot at those tough encounters!
