An Addams Family veteran wants to return to .
The Netflix series Wednesday, a spin-off of The Addams Family, was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and debuted in 2022, starring Jenna Ortega. Christopher Lloyd appeared as Professor Orloff in season 2, and it’s currently unknown if he’ll be back for the already-announced season 3.
Christopher Lloyd recently told Screen Rant that he’d love to reprise his role as Professor Orloff if there’s a third season of Wednesday. While he didn’t say for sure that he’ll be in the new season, he expressed his enthusiasm for continuing with the show.
“I love it, and I hope I do more,” Lloyd shared with the crowd at CCXP. While the future of Wednesday beyond season three is still uncertain, Lloyd seems eager to reprise his role as Orloff if the show continues.
Christopher Lloyd is well-known for his role as Uncle Fester in The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1993), following in the footsteps of Jackie Coogan, who originally played the character in the 1960s TV series. While Lloyd has expressed interest in reprising the role, he wasn’t featured in the recent trailer for the third season of Wednesday released by Netflix two months ago.
Following the success of its first season, Wednesday season 2 proved to be another win for Netflix. It attracted a large audience and also received positive reviews, earning an 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Season 2 brought back the original cast, including Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, and Joy Sunday. This season, Wednesday Addams dealt with a new, unknown stalker and learned more about her family’s past. Jamie Lloyd plays Professor Orloff, a biology teacher at Nevermore Academy who is uniquely presented as a head in a jar – and is the school’s longest-serving teacher.
Filming for Season 3 began in Ireland in mid-February, and it’s currently planned to be released on Netflix in 2027. Similar to the first two seasons, Season 3 will likely have eight episodes. Along with familiar faces like Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Naomi J. Ogawa, and Moosa Mostafa, the new season will introduce Winona Ryder as Tabitha and Eva Green as Ophelia.
Okay, so everyone’s wondering what happens with Wednesday after the season 2 finale, right? It seems like we definitely haven’t seen the last of Professor Orloff, though. Even if he doesn’t show up in season 3, I get the feeling he’s going to be important later on. The show’s creators are hinting at that, and honestly, I’m kind of hoping for it!
