This isekai anime is incredibly popular, ranking among the most well-known in the genre. It’s currently four seasons in, and has gained a level of fan following that many other isekai shows aspire to. Viewers enjoy watching the story of Rimuru Tempest, a slime who strives to build a peaceful world for everyone.
Compared to many other ‘isekai’ anime, Reincarnated as a Slime tends to be more cheerful and relaxed, largely because its main characters are incredibly strong and rarely face serious danger. The show also prioritizes peaceful solutions and negotiations over fighting. However, despite this, there have still been moments where characters have died in battle or while pursuing their objectives.
Shizu Lost Control Of Her Powers And Chose To Be Consumed
I was absolutely heartbroken learning about Shizu’s story! She was one of the first characters to tragically fall in battle, and her life was just so unfair. She was brought to this new world as a little kid and couldn’t even control the magicules within her. It was awful! Thankfully, the Demon Lord Leon tried to help by implanting the elemental Ifrit inside her. It gave her a chance to live a bit, to experience life as an adventurer, but it wasn’t enough to save her in the end.
Shizu was a skilled adventurer, but over time, she began to lose her grip on the immense power of Ifrit. After a fight with Rimuru in Jura Forest, she lost control completely, and Rimuru absorbed Ifrit. As she faded away, Shizu asked Rimuru to take care of the children from another world that she had been raising, and Rimuru granted her wish. This also gave Rimuru the ability to transform into a human form that looked like Shizu.
Gelmud Was Killed By The Very Orc He Tried To Control
Gelmud was a powerful monster who worked for Clayman at the beginning of the first season. He and Clayman were trying to create another Demon Lord to serve Clayman, and Gelmud did this by influencing Geld, the Orc Lord, to become stronger by absorbing the power of others.
This plan ultimately backfired on Gelmud. He’d hoped to guide Geld’s evolution, but Geld instead devoured Gelmud to gain even more power. This act successfully transformed Geld into the Orc Disaster, a creature with immense potential.
Geld Senior Surrendered To Rimuru After Being Out-Consumed
Geld led a large orc community that generally kept to themselves, but they faced terrible famine because their land was barren. Driven to desperation by extreme hunger, Geld gained the power called “Starve,” which compelled him to consume anything he laid eyes on. Later, after discovering he’d been used by Gelmud, he devoured Gelmud as well. This act not only ended Gelmud’s schemes but also amplified Geld’s power, turning him into the devastating Orc Disaster.
During the Orc Disaster, Geld Senior became a major threat to the Jura Forest until Rimuru intervened. In their fight, Rimuru used his ‘Predator’ skill to overcome Geld’s ‘Starved’ ability and absorb his power. Understanding the plight of Geld’s people, Rimuru promised to protect the remaining orcs and ensure they had enough to eat, finally allowing Geld to rest.
Charybdis Was Destroyed By Milim’s Power
Charybdis was a powerful monster born from the combined negativity of humankind and the magical energy of Veldora. It would reappear every few centuries, but a hero once sealed it away hoping to end the cycle of rebirth. Unfortunately, the Moderate Harlequin Alliance unintentionally freed Charybdis, and it fell under the control of Phobio, a member of the Beastketeers.
Even from the beginning of the series, few monsters posed a real threat to Rimuru. Charybdis was an exception, possessing significant power. Luckily, Rimuru had already formed an alliance with Milim, who was strong enough to defeat Charybdis. Milim effortlessly destroyed the monster, and was even able to rescue Phobio, who was connected to it, along with its magical core.
Orthos Was Destroyed To Honor A Mage’s Final Wishes
Orthos doesn’t appear much in the anime. He’s introduced and killed off in the same episode, number 24. He’s presented as the king of Flitwood and a famous hero who defeated a powerful demon, but this is a lie. The truth is Orthos was the demon, and he fabricated the story of being defeated by a hero.
Orthos steadily increased his influence from the shadows, but he eventually clashed with a powerful adventuring group. While Orthos managed to defeat the Silver Wings, one of them used their abilities to summon Noir – who would later become Diablo – to eliminate him. Noir not only defeated Orthos, but completely annihilated his soul, leaving nothing behind.
Shion And Others Of Tempest Village Were Quickly Revived
I remember being pretty shocked during the second season of Reincarnated as a Slime when Shion and some other villagers were killed – though Rimuru thankfully fixed things later. It all started when the Kingdom of Falmuth, along with a team of people from another world – Shougo, Kyoya, and Kirara – attacked Tempest. Before the battle even began, they set up magical barriers. One barrier stripped all the monsters of their powers, and another was meant to trap everyone inside, preventing escape.
Shion died in a difficult battle, along with many villagers from Tempest. However, because of the magical barriers in place, their souls couldn’t pass on. Fortunately, Rimuru, after becoming a True Demon Lord, was able to bring them back to life. While this was a relief, it was a bit disappointing to see this powerful and emotional moment undone, as the deaths had raised the stakes and impacted viewers who cared about those characters.
The Summoned Otherworlders Never Stood A Chance Against Tempest Village
Kyoya Tachibana, Kirara Mizutani, and Shougo Taguchi were brought to another world and forced into slavery by Falmuth. They were sent to Tempest Village with the goal of causing conflict between the humans and monsters, but when that plan failed, they resorted to violence. They used their abilities to kill several residents of Tempest Village before escaping with the Falmuth Army.
Their triumph didn’t last long. Rimuru and his friends quickly arrived, and Kyoya was swiftly defeated by Hakurou. At the same time, Shougo killed Kirara to steal a Unique Skill, but was then beaten by Geld and ultimately killed by Razen, who then possessed his body. However, Razen’s reign was also brief, as Diablo defeated and killed him shortly after Rimuru gained a new ally. Seeing these three attackers get their comeuppance was a particularly satisfying moment in the second season.
The Falmuth Army Were Destroyed In A Matter Of Moments
Marius Falmuth, along with his companions Razen and Reyheim, commanded the Falmuth army as they marched on Tempest Village. They planned to forcefully seize the city from its monster inhabitants, confident in an easy victory. But when they faced Rimuru, they quickly realized their assumptions were wrong.
Rimuru was enraged by the losses his people suffered, and swiftly destroyed the entire Falmuth Army. This massive victory not only avenged his allies but also unlocked a new level of power within him, transforming him into a True Demon Lord. This increased strength allowed him to rescue those killed by the summoned Otherworlders. The complete defeat of both the Otherworlders and the Falmuth army was a truly impressive display of power.
Yamza’s Destruction Lead To Clayman’s Biggest Plan Failing
During the latter part of Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2, Clayman attacks the nation of Eurazania. His trusted commander, Yamza, spearheaded the invasion, but was ultimately beaten by Albis, a skilled Beastketeer. Despite his loss, Yamza was honorable and intended to surrender rather than continue fighting.
Clayman, always scheming, tricked Yamza into becoming a monstrous, mutated form of Charybdis and continuing the fight. Losing control of his own mind, Yamza went on a destructive rampage until he clashed with Benimaru. Benimaru’s masterful swordsmanship quickly defeated Yamza, eliminating a key warrior from Clayman’s army.
Clayman’s Machinations Meant Nothing In The Face Of Rimuru
During the final events of season two, Clayman desperately tries to eliminate Rimuru at Walpurgis, even asking the Demon Lords for help. However, Rimuru and his friends reveal Clayman’s schemes, turning the tables on him. Ultimately, the Demon Lords demand a fight, but Rimuru lets his loyal follower, Shion, avenge herself for a previous attack Clayman made on her life.
Shion quickly won against Clayman, but he refused to accept defeat. In a desperate attempt to turn the tables, Clayman transformed into a weaker Demon Lord, which forced Rimuru to intervene. However, Rimuru was far too strong, easily defeating and completely destroying Clayman. This left the Moderate Harlequin Alliance leaderless.
