Kellogg’s is reintroducing a classic cereal box prize after a long hiatus, and it’s connected to a major movie coming out in 2026.
Kellogg’s is bringing back toys in some of its cereal boxes to promote the new movie, Toy Story 5, coming out on June 19th. This is the first time in more than ten years that the company has put toys inside the boxes.
Limited-edition boxes of cereal with the special offer will be available across the country beginning April 26th.
The relaunch aims to encourage more unplugged playtime, with Kellogg’s emphasizing how cereal box prizes used to be a fun part of daily life and family time.
Kellogg’s brings toys back to cereal boxes after more than a decade
For years, many cereal boxes included toys to make breakfast more fun and interactive. Kellogg’s says their latest offer is designed to bring back that same excitement for today’s kids.
Laura Newman, VP of Brand Marketing at WK Kellogg Co., explained that breakfast with Kellogg’s products often evokes strong, happy childhood memories for families.
Putting toys back in their box creates a fun, screen-free playtime experience, allowing parents to enjoy that same feeling of discovery with their children.

This campaign is connected to the ideas explored in Toy Story 5, which looks at how toys fit into a world full of technology. Popular characters like Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie are all part of the promotional materials.
I’m so excited for Toy Story 5! Disney’s Lylle Breier said the whole movie is really about how toys spark our imaginations, help us make friends, and just remind us to have fun playing. It sounds like it’s going to be a really heartwarming story!
I’m so excited to see Kellogg’s teaming up with Disney and Pixar for their Toys Back in the Box campaign! It’s a really fun way for families to rediscover the magic of Toy Story and all our favorite characters like Woody, Buzz, and Jessie. It’s going to be awesome!
To celebrate the launch, Kellogg’s is creating an event with a giant, Toy Story-themed claw machine. It will be held on May 24th at The Grove in Los Angeles.
In early April, Starbucks Korea announced a partnership with Toy Story 5, launching special menu items and merchandise inspired by the movie’s characters.
