If you were looking forward to watching the latest episode of South Park – Season 27, Episode 6 – tonight, especially after last week’s exciting comeback, here’s an update for you.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone haven’t been shy about expressing their views. The initial episode of the newest season of South Park included a direct and outspoken public service announcement featuring Donald Trump, and things have been quite eventful ever since. It’s been a whirlwind, to say the least.
Up to this point, we’ve witnessed some bizarre transformations: Randy becoming a stereotypical, tech-obsessed entrepreneur, Kristi Noem shooting her dog Krypto, FCC chairman Brendan Carr facing accusations of restricted free speech, and even the outlandish claim that the US president fathered a child with Satan.
I’m so excited! Thanks to a deal the showrunners made with Paramount, Season 27 is going to have 10 episodes – which is the most we’ve gotten since 2019! But, unfortunately we’re going to have to be patient because we’ll have to wait a bit before the next episode airs. It’ll be worth it though!
When is South Park Season 27 Episode 6 out?
The newest episode of South Park, Season 27 Episode 6, will premiere on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 10pm Eastern Time/9pm Central Time on Comedy Central. You’ll be able to watch it online starting Thursday, October 16 at 6am ET/5am CT.
Instead of a new episode, Comedy Central will be showing reruns all day, including Season 27 Episode 5, ‘Conflict of Interest’, from last week. After that, at 10:30pm ET, you can watch Season 3 Episode 6 of Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head, and then a new episode of The Daily Show at 11pm ET.
Originally, Episode 6 of Season 27 was meant to air on August 27th. So, what caused the delay, and why is it now being released in mid-October?
South Park Season 27 delay explained
The delay is because Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and their team require additional time to ensure the show meets their quality standards.
So, Season 27 was *supposed* to come out weekly, but honestly, that was a bit optimistic. It turns out making this show is seriously fast-paced! They write, animate, and record each episode in just a few days – it’s pretty incredible how quickly they get it done. It’s a real challenge to keep up that speed, though!
This lets the South Park team react quickly to what’s happening now, though it also means that things sometimes take longer than expected.
Following a two-week break after the initial episodes of Season 27, a source revealed to Deadline, “The current production process requires more time than normal to assemble and complete this year’s episodes.”
There’s a lot happening daily with Trump, and we won’t rush things just to meet a deadline. We’re prioritizing accuracy, even if it means delaying the broadcast and extending the season’s length. Getting it right is the most important thing, even if it takes extra time.
A source at Skydance’s Paramount explained, “We’re happy with the current success and won’t interfere with a winning formula. Viewership is strong, and the show is popular – we’re fine with a 20-week season consisting of 10 episodes, if that’s what they prefer.”
After that, there was a pretty big gap – about three weeks – between Episodes 4 and 5. Honestly, a *lot* was going on in the real world at the time. I remember hearing about Charlie Kirk’s death, which was wild, and it even led to Comedy Central pulling an old episode of South Park featuring a character based on him. Plus, there was all that drama with Jimmy Kimmel getting suspended – it was a crazy time to be following everything.
Therefore, South Parkfans were eagerly awaiting the release of Episode 5 on September 17th. But just before it was scheduled to air, this announcement came: “South Park will continue on Wednesday, September 24th at 10pm ET/PT on Comedy Central.”
Parker and Stone released this statement: “It seems when you leave things until the very last minute, they don’t always get finished. We take full responsibility – we just ran out of time. We appreciate Comedy Central and the South Park fans for their patience. Don’t forget to watch next week!”
While delays are typical, some people wondered if the team behind the project was dealing with potential censorship, particularly following the situation with Jimmy Kimmel. Additionally, the merger between Paramount and Skydance needed approval from the Federal Communications Commission, which added to the speculation.
However, Stone assured The Denver Post that the episode wasn’t subject to any censorship. “The episode wasn’t removed, and we weren’t asked to make any changes – we would have spoken up if that had happened,” he clarified.
We simply weren’t successful. When you consistently leave things until the last minute, mistakes sometimes happen. That’s what you get for putting things off – it’s the downside of being a procrastinator.

Season 27 Episode 6 theories
Since South Park episodes are created very quickly, Trey Parker and Matt Stone probably haven’t completely decided on the plot of Season 27, Episode 6 yet. However, that hasn’t stopped people from developing theories about what it might be.
With Satan expected to deliver his unusual offspring – nicknamed his “butt baby” (unless Trump intervenes) – many fans are wishing for the reappearance of a character who hasn’t been featured in the story for a long time: Damien.
One fan expressed hope for Damien’s return, stating, “I hope that Damien returns because he will have a step sibling,” while another commented, “We need to see Damien again. Haven’t seen him since Stick of Truth.” A third person added, “I want to see who plays the baby.”
Many people are concerned about Towelie and want to see him rescued from the White House. One person wrote, “They need to rescue Towelie,” while another added, “All I know is I hope Towelie is safe and not being taken advantage of.”
Many viewers have also commented that Parker and Stone have so much material to make fun of.
A Redditor commented on this week’s news regarding AI actress Tilly Norwood, saying, “It feels like it would take 30 episodes to make fun of everything that’s happened this year.”
“It’s going to be a content goldmine for the next four years,” one person remarked, while another jokingly added, “Let’s definitely include something about Satan being denied Tylenol.”
