15-year-old rabbit breaks Guinness World Record for oldest living bunny

A rabbit in the UK has earned a Guinness World Record as the oldest living bunny, living well beyond the typical lifespan for rabbits.

I just saw the coolest news! Apparently, a lionhead rabbit named Herbie has officially been recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest living rabbit! He’s 15 years and 82 days old, which is amazing for a bunny!

Herbie the tortoise lives with Richard and Melissa Dunham in Surrey. They adopted him from a pet shop when he was a baby, just eight weeks old.

Even though he’s getting older, Herbie is loved by the whole family and still makes everyone happy when they’re around him.

Oldest rabbit in the world goes viral

Melissa, Herbie’s owner, describes him as a very dominant and bossy rabbit. He’s quite independent and actually enjoys being chased by her husband. When he’s happy, he does a little dance called a ‘binky’ – a twist, kick, and jump all in one! He especially loves doing ‘head binkies.’ Though he used to prefer men, he’s become more accepting of everyone as he’s gotten older.

Melissa said he was strong-willed and had a lot of personality. She remembered he always loved being playfully chased, turning it into a game where he’d run ahead, then stop and wait for someone to catch up.

Herbie is popular with everyone, not just his family, and he’s quite the charmer with the female rabbits! Apparently, this older bunny has had several ‘wives’ over the years and is currently enjoying the company of a six-year-old rabbit named Betty.

Herbie isn’t the only animal making headlines with world records! Earlier this year, a pig earned a Guinness World Record for having more than a million followers on Instagram.
