Couple finds backyard full of strangers after emergency hot air balloon landing

Honestly, there are few things worse than when your peaceful Saturday morning is interrupted by a huge hot air balloon – and thirteen happy people – suddenly appearing in your yard! It’s definitely a surprise, to say the least.

A California couple got a big surprise when they walked into their backyard in Temecula and found a hot air balloon had landed there – and a dozen people inside were cheerfully greeting them!

The couple was understandably shocked when the hot air balloon landed nearby. They told CBS News they were amazed by how large the balloon was and impressed with the pilot’s skill. He managed to land it safely, just barely missing the fence, and thankfully, no one was hurt and there was no damage to their property.

The pilot encountered a sudden loss of wind, quickly followed by low fuel. This forced them to make an emergency landing, which unfortunately ended up being in someone’s backyard.

I was so relieved when he came down! Thankfully, he didn’t hit anything – no damage to the house or fence, and everyone was okay. It was actually pretty funny – the passengers and the home security cameras all caught him landing, and people were shouting cheerful greetings and laughing. There were even a few jokes being cracked! It was a surprisingly lighthearted moment.

The video shows everyone involved – both the people in the car and the homeowners – laughing about the situation. They immediately started recording each other, with the homeowners playfully asking the passengers how their journey was going. The passengers responded with a joke, saying they just wanted to wake everyone up.

After some teamwork and a fuel refill, the passengers were able to get out of the balloon safely. The balloon was then removed from the garden, marking the end of what was likely a memorable Saturday for the couple involved.
