Wednesday Season 3 Confirms Major Location Change With First Image Of Jenna Ortega’s Return

Wednesday season 3 is headed to another country.

The popular Netflix show Wednesday, which has been a huge success for the streaming service, has always been set in the United States, mainly in the town of Jericho, Vermont, home to Nevermore Academy. The first season ended with a hint that the next season will expand beyond the school, as Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, hits the road with her Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) to find Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers). The season also revealed that Ophelia Frump is still alive, but is being held prisoner in the basement of her grandmother, Hester Frump’s (Joanna Lumley), house.

I’m so excited! Netflix just revealed that season 3 of Wednesday won’t be limited to Nevermore Academy anymore – we’re heading to Paris! The first picture they released shows Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega, and Thing standing in front of the Eiffel Tower with a cool black motorcycle. The caption was perfect: “From Paris, with dread.” I can’t wait to see what happens!

After the events of season 2, many fans anticipated that Wednesday season 3 would expand its storyline and potentially feature new locations. However, the decision to send Wednesday to Paris is unexpected. Given her personality – she doesn’t travel for fun and dislikes romantic settings – it’s clear she’s there for a significant reason. This could be connected to finding Enid, learning the truth about her Aunt Ophelia, or a completely new mystery.

I’m really hoping they expand the world of the show in Season 3, and I think introducing a Nevermore Academy in France would be amazing! We already know about Reichenbach Academy in Switzerland, where Xavier is now, and Wednesday’s dad actually studied there once. It would be so cool to see another school for outcasts and maybe even connect it to the new mysteries Wednesday is trying to solve. It just feels like a natural way to build on everything we’ve seen so far!

Wednesday and Thing are going to Paris, but other characters’ stories will continue back in the United States. This includes Tyler Galpin, who Isadora Capri is recruiting to lead a group of hydes, as well as Bianca Barclay, Pugsley Addams, Morticia and Gomez Addams, Fester, and Hester. It appears Wednesday and Thing’s time in Paris is just a brief stop, rather than a full relocation for all the characters.

Eva Green will play Ophelia in the upcoming season of Wednesday, and she’ll be joined by Lena Headey, Winona Ryder, Andrew McCarthy, James Lance, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer. Production for season 3 started in Dublin on February 23rd. While a release date hasn’t been revealed, with filming beginning so soon after the previous season ended in September, fans likely won’t have to wait another three years for new episodes.
