Building on the popularity of recent anime based on titles from Shonen Jump+, like Dandadan and Kaiju No.8, another series is getting the same treatment. Shueisha has confirmed that Marriagetoxin, an action manga focused on marriage, will be adapted into a TV anime scheduled for release in 2026. The adaptation will be supervised by Studio Bones, the animation studio behind hits such as Fullmetal Alchemist and My Hero Academia.
Marriagetoxin, created by Joumyaku and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda, centers around Hikaru Gero, an incredibly talented assassin from the Poison Masters Clan who has never been in love. He needs to continue his family’s lineage, so he partners with Mei Kinosaki, an expert in arranging marriages, to find someone compatible. According to a recent announcement, this news comes with a brand new teaser trailer, character designs, and information about the voice actors and team working on the series. The teaser trailer shows how the two very different characters first meet, hinting at a chaotic and exciting journey as the assassin and marriage swindler tackle what seems like an impossible quest for love.
Shonen Jump’s Marriagetoxin Gets ‘Masterpiece’ Anime by Studio Bones for 2026 Release
The main voice actors include Haruki Ishiya as Hikaru Gero, the skilled assassin, and Shion Wakayama as Mei Kinosaki, a charming con artist who preys on marriages. The series is being produced by a seasoned team at Bones Film, a recently established division of Studio Bones. Motonobu Hori (Carole & Tuesday) is directing, with Kohei Tokuoka (SK8 the Infinity) as chief animation director and character designer. Kimiko Ueno is writing the series composition and script, and the music will be composed by Taisei Iwasaki and yuma yamaguchi.
Original creator Joumyaku was incredibly enthusiastic about the anime adaptation, sending a “huge shout-out” to artist Mizuki Yoda, the editors, and all the readers who have supported the series. He highly praised the anime production team, saying they have an exceptional “understanding of this work” and that “every meeting made the story even better.” Joumyaku was very impressed after attending the first voice recording session, and felt confident that the anime adaptation “will without a doubt be a masterpiece.”
Studio Bones is consistently praised as a top animation studio, and for good reason. Bones Film is a more recent branch, but it’s already contributed to significant projects like Gachiakuta and My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. In addition, the studio is expanding into well-known and popular areas; alongside Marriagetoxin, Bones Film is also set to adapt Daemons of the Shadow Realm, the latest ongoing series.
Marriagetoxin is being published chapter by chapter on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app, and readers worldwide can access it through the Manga Plus platform. There are currently 14 collected volumes of the manga, and the 15th volume is set to be released on Oct. 3, 2025.
