In DC Comics’ New Titans #34, the Titans find themselves caught in a confusing illusion. As Titans Tower starts to crumble, the team is confronted by people who claim to be fellow Titans. They must figure out what’s real and what’s fake, and try to break free from a repeating cycle of events, all while uncovering the source of the chaos.
Cyborg’s Importance In The Teen Titans, Explained
Cyborg first appeared in DC Comics in 1980, in the story “Where Nightmare Begins!” from DC Comics Presents #26. Since then, his origin story has evolved. Originally portrayed as a victim of experimentation, he’s now often depicted as an athlete whose life changed forever after a terrible accident, leading to his transformation into a cybernetically enhanced hero.
Since his introduction, Cyborg has consistently been a vital part of the Teen Titans in almost every version of the team. He’s also become a major hero in the broader DC Universe, capable of handling everything from common criminals to incredibly powerful cosmic threats all by himself.
Recently, Cyborg separated from Victor Stone, leading to a massive clash between heroes and villains that threatened the entire Multiverse. Superman ultimately triumphed over Darkseid, and then used the incredible power he’d gathered to give a piece of it to everyone involved in the battle.
After gaining more power, Victor Stone’s body recovered completely, making him fully human again. However, his Cyborg side also evolved, becoming fully formed and self-aware – potentially creating the Titans’ most dangerous enemy yet.
New Titans #34 from DC Comics is on sale now.
