The Strongest Stand In JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure

Created by Hirohiko Araki, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a hugely popular anime and manga series. It’s known for its unique and often strange take on the action-adventure genre, and has become a major source of internet memes. Though the first two parts were excellent, the series truly took off with Stardust Crusaders, the third part, where Araki introduced the idea of “Stands,” special abilities that became a defining feature of the series.

Each Stand is a physical representation of a person’s inner strength and is unique to its user. While many Stands appear as humanoids, they can also take on completely different forms. Some Stands have simple abilities, but others are incredibly complex and powerful, almost like divine powers. A distinctive feature of Stands in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is that their names are often inspired by famous Western music and the Major Arcana tarot cards.

Pannacotta Fugo’s Purple Haze Is Dangerous & Difficult to Control

I’ve observed that Pannacotta Fugo’s Stand, Purple Haze, is a really dangerous virus that attacks living tissue. Fugo himself doesn’t use it much in fights, and for good reason – it’s incredibly unpredictable and difficult to manage. Abbachio has mentioned that Fugo actively avoids using it unless absolutely necessary, which makes sense given how risky it is.

Purple Haze is a dangerous Stand that breaks down living things using bulbs filled with a virus that melts flesh. It can quickly dissolve an organism into a mushy state, though the effect isn’t contagious. Luckily, any light source instantly destroys the virus. Ultimately, Pannacotta Fugo’s Purple Haze is considered one of the less powerful Stands when facing opponents like Giorno Giovanna.

Okuyasu’s The Hand Deserves More Attention Than It Receives

I’ve always thought Okuyasu Nijimura was a bit underrated in Diamond is Unbreakable. Sure, he’s not the main character, but his Stand, The Hand, is seriously powerful. It can completely destroy anything it touches, though strangely only on the right side of whatever it hits. Honestly, in terms of fighting ability, I’d put it right up there with Josuke’s Crazy Diamond – it’s that impressive.

The Hand has the incredible ability to warp space, letting the user move things faster than light. This allows for amazing feats, like creating empty spaces within reality. However, Nijimura isn’t skilled enough to fully control The Hand. He even admits he doesn’t understand where the voids created by his Stand actually lead.

The Grateful Dead Is As Formidable As It Appears

Prosciutto’s Stand, The Grateful Dead, is quickly becoming known as one of the most terrifying and powerful abilities in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Unlike Stands that fight up close, The Grateful Dead can affect a wide area, letting Prosciutto potentially defeat many opponents at once. Despite its name, the Stand doesn’t offer a peaceful death; instead, it kills people by rapidly aging their bodies.

This power affects almost everything alive, from people and animals to plants and even the person who possesses it. Team Giorno works hard to defeat both Prosciutto and The Grateful Dead. Notably, cooling down the surrounding area can stop this ability from working.

Echoes Goes Through a Series of Evolutionary Forms

At the start of Diamond is Unbreakable, Koichi Hirose is timid and unsure of himself, much like his initially weak Stand. His Stand, Echoes, begins as a simple, worm-like form, hinting at a powerful sound-based ability that develops over time. As Echoes evolves to ACT1, it fully embraces this concept, enabling Koichi to perform impressive fighting moves.

ACT2’s powers work by responding to the sounds Koichi makes. However, Echoes doesn’t fully develop until ACT3, where it uses a special ability called ‘3 Freeze.’ This technique makes anything it touches much heavier. Despite this potential, Echoes still isn’t strong enough to compete with powerful Stands like Star Platinum or The World Over Heaven, and Koichi needs more training.

Heaven’s Door Can Rip Open Someone’s Body & Read Them Like a Book

Rohan’s Stand, Heaven’s Door, is both incredibly strange and frightening. It allows him to open someone’s body and see their entire life, as if reading a book. He can even alter their memories or add new information – for example, he once made Koichi appear to already know Italian before a trip there. Rohan often uses this ability to find inspiration and details for his manga, Pink Dark Boy.

He prefers incredibly accurate information, and he’ll invade someone’s privacy using his Stand to get it. However, his Stand, Heaven’s Door, has almost endless uses because it can rewrite memories. Kishibe can completely change someone’s personality or feed enemies false information with it. Interestingly, while it works on ghosts, Heaven’s Door can’t read the memories of the person using it.

Stone Free Is One Of The Most Versatile Stands In JoJo’s Stone Ocean

Jolyne Cujoh’s Stand, Stone Free, is often considered the highlight of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. It’s a noticeable step up from the Stands of Joseph Joestar and Josuke Higashikata, but doesn’t quite reach the power level of many previous Joestars. Despite this, Stone Free is incredibly versatile, and Jolyne demonstrates a lot of ingenuity in how she uses it throughout the story.

Stone Free’s ability to create incredibly strong strings proved invaluable to Jolyne and her allies while they were imprisoned at Green Dolphin Street. These strings weren’t just versatile – they could be used for everything from stealing to contorting Jolyne’s body – but also remarkably sharp, capable of slicing through flesh. Despite its usefulness, Stone Free’s overall power level isn’t high enough to rank it among the most formidable Stands.

Silver Chariot Moves Even Faster After Shedding Its Armor

Jean Pierre Polnareff started as an enemy, but quickly joined Jotaro’s group. His Stand, Silver Chariot, is incredibly strong, and could be even more powerful if Polnareff were more cunning and aggressive. As it stands, though, Silver Chariot is just powerful, not truly overwhelming. Even so, it’s a Stand that any opponent should fear.

Silver Chariot is incredibly fast, becoming even quicker when it removes its armor. Its rapier is exceptionally sharp, capable of cutting through fire or effortlessly sculpting stone. Any attempt to attack or defend physically is likely to be sliced apart. A unique ability of this Stand is called Sword Shooting, where Polnareff launches Silver Chariot’s sword as a projectile at opponents.

Sticky Fingers Creates Portals that Give Bruno Bucciarati a Major Advantage

Known as “Zipper Man,” this Stand isn’t particularly strong in terms of raw power. However, it’s incredibly versatile. It can create zippers on any surface – even people! This allows Bruno Bucciarati to do things like create instant pathways for attacks or escapes, divide enemies, conceal himself within objects, or even separate parts of his own body to avoid being seen.

Bucciarati is a smart, fast, and determined fighter who expertly uses his Stand, Sticky Fingers. This Stand lets him create zippers on almost anything, even merging objects – like when he attached someone’s arm to himself. Most powerfully, Sticky Fingers can store a limitless number of items within these zippers, with the storage space determined by the size of the object the zippers appear on.

Hanged Man Is Exceptionally Difficult to Escape or Dodge

J. Geil is a truly awful Stand User who commits terrible acts. His Stand, inspired by the Tarot card the Hanged Man, can move instantly between any reflective surface – even people’s eyes! This ability lets him dodge attacks by leaping from mirrors to puddles and even coins. Despite this power, J. Geil isn’t clever enough to escape defeat at the hands of Team Jotaro.

Despite everything, Hanged Man is incredibly fast, even surpassing Silver Chariot, and can attack with its wrist blades before an opponent can react. Plus, because of its connection to mirrors, it’s extremely hard to escape or lose track of.

White Album Exploits Its Ice-Based Powers Rather Efficiently

White Album is unusual because it appears as a suit of armor worn by its user, rather than a separate being that fights alongside them. Its power is straightforward but incredibly useful: it can freeze things. Like many stories, ice-based abilities are very powerful, and with White Album, Ghiaccio can freeze anything solid – even water in the air – create extremely durable armor, and move quickly by skating on ice.

White Album can instantly drop the temperature to below freezing with just a touch from its user, Ghiaccio. It took the combined effort of Mista and Giorno to overcome Ghiaccio and his Stand. However, White Album’s power is limited – the freezing effect only lasts as long as Ghiaccio maintains physical contact with whatever he’s targeting.
